‘Sister Wives:’ Robyn Cries Over Being ‘The Brown Family Scapegoat’
In a preview for the upcoming episode of Sister Wives, Robyn Brown tells Meri that she feels like she’s “the brown family scapegoat.” She thinks that since the beginning of her marriage with Kody, she’s been trying to prove to everyone her good intentions. Is Robyn the scapegoat or the cause of the family problems?
Robyn is tired of ‘being questioned’ about her intentions
In the preview for the upcoming Jan 9th episode of Sister Wives (via US), Robyn has a heart-to-heart talk with her sister wife, Meri Brown. She says, “I didn’t sign up for monogamy. I know that every person in the world would sit there and question that. But, like, I did not sign up to be in this family to only have Kody in my life.”
She tells the cameras, “Gosh, I’m so tired of this. I’m so tired of this. I’ve been doing it for years, from day one. Sitting here begging to be part of this family, and I’m tired of being questioned. I’m just tired of it.”
Robyn says her mom calls her the ‘Brown family scapegoat’
She explains to Meri, “As much as I love Kody, it’s great to have him around. It’s stressing me out. And I’m worried about the kids that aren’t seeing their dad. I’m worried about the wives that aren’t seeing Kody.”
Meri apologized for making it seem like she was “pointing the finger” at her. Robyn says, “It gets frustrating. My mom calls me ‘the brown family scapegoat.'” And Meri replies, “That’s got to be a hard position.”
Robyn tells the cameras, “I called my mom, and she just kind of chuckled. She said, “All they do is blame you for stuff. You’re just their scapegoat. You’re the Brown family scapegoat.”
Meri doesn’t feel like she’s part of the family
After Robyn reveals how she feels like the “scapegoat” for the family, Meri jokes, “Hey, at least you’re part of the family.” Meri jokes, “Do you know how it feels to be like I’m an outsider, Robyn.”
It may have seemed like Meri was just joking with Robyn, but that’s really how she feels. She tells the cameras, “No, I don’t feel like I’m part of the family. It’s this weird thing. Am I a sister wife if I don’t have a husband. And I have a husband, technically, but do I? You know what I mean? So it’s a really weird… it’s weird.
Meri tells Robyn that Kody is only interested in being “friends” but nothing more. But Robyn seems to have hope that a new type of relationship could begin from this. She says, “But that’s a door open, that’s a little bit of a door open.”
Is Robyn the “scapegoat” of the family? Is it easy to blame all of the problems on Robyn, or is she the actual problem behind the family crumbling? Sister Wives Season 16 will continue to bring fans more answers. Sister Wives airs Sundays on TLC and discovery+.
