‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Jokes That She’s ‘Throwing a Wrench’ Into Fan Speculation About Her Marriage to Kody Brown
Meri Brown wants you to know that her marriage to Kody Brown is just fine. In a candid Dec. 5 Instagram post, the Sister Wives star addressed fan speculation about her relationship with Kody, confirming that the pair are still together, despite some “ups and downs through the years.”
Meri’s post attracted thousands of comments, some of which the reality TV star replied to. In one of those follow-up comments, she joked about people who make a habit out of speculating about her personal life.
Kody and Meri Brown have a complicated relationship
Meri and Kody have been together since 1990. Their legal marriage lasted 24 years. In 2014, Kody divorced Meri to legally marry his fourth wife Robyn. However, Meri and Kody remain spiritually married. (The polygamous Brown family also includes Kody’s other two wives, Janelle and Chrisine.)
Since the divorce, Meri appears to have pulled away from Kody and the rest of her family. She started an online relationship that was later revealed to be a catfish situation. And she’s thrown her energy into her B&B business, which she runs without the help of the rest of the family. Many fans have wondered if she’s about to leave Kody and her life of plural marriage.
Meri Brown says she’s ‘throwing a wrench in things’
In her post, Meri didn’t mince words when talking about her relationship with Kody.
“Let’s just clarify something here. I love this man,” she captioned a photo of herself and her husband. She acknowledged that choosing to participate in Sister Wives opened herself and her family up to “speculation, commentary, and opinions.”
“But it comes down to this. My relationship with him is MY relationship with him,” she continued. “I’m here. I’m committed. I’m not going anywhere. Don’t get your hopes up on that.”
One of Meri’s fans who responded to her post applauded her for firing back at those who doubted the strength of her relationship.
“Shoot Meri! You just set the ‘has she left’ speculation industry back a whole week. Unfortunately, they will rebuild,” the person wrote.
“You know me, always throwing a wrench in things!!” Meri replied, along with the rolling on the floor laughing emoji.
Meri Brown says she’s ‘keepin’ it real’
In another reply to a follower, Meri said she was “just keepin’ it real” when it came to fan speculation about whether she might leave Kody.
Meri’s post got a thumbs up from at least one of her family members. Ysabel Brown, who is the daughter of Kody and Christine, commented, “ahhh i love you marmee!!”
“Love you sweet girl!” Meri replied.
Fans may get more insight into the state of Meri and Kody’s relationship on the upcoming season of Sister Wives. While TLC has not officially confirmed that season 15 is happening, Christine dropped a hint on Facebook that the family was filming new episodes. If that’s the case, there’s a good chance they’ll begin airing in January 2021, as that is when new seasons of Sister Wives have premiered in the past.
