Sister Wives star Robyn Brown has stuck close to Kody Brown since spiritually marrying into his polygamist family in 2010. She immediately gained an edge over his trio of wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown, eventually making her Kody’s number one.

However, as Kody continues to demonstrate bad behavior not only to his exes but their children, there has to be a reason Robyn continues to stick by him. Why won’t she ever leave Kody?

Robyn Brown won’t leave Kody Brown because she needs him and ‘Sister Wives’ to survive

Kody and Robyn Brown’s marriage appeared to be on a different emotional plane than his relationships with Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown. Kody admitted so during the season 18 finale when he reminded Robyn of their sacred covenant.

Robyn needs Kody to survive both financially and emotionally. She came into the Brown family with debt and three children. It’s been widely rumored that she purposefully entered into their family knowing they were to get a TLC series.

However, Robyn backed herself into a corner financially and emotionally by marrying Kody. She seems to have no real skills to care for herself and has become accustomed to a grand lifestyle thanks to the income the couple generates from appearing on Sister Wives.

Plus, she will never leave Kody because she wants stability for their children. She has also discussed Kody’s emotional fragility and fears leaving him could worsen his situation.

Some viewers speculate that Kody might manipulate Robyn into staying by creating a sense of dependence or guilt. Robyn still reportedly adheres to the AUB’s teachings, and those religious pressures could make leaving the marriage seem more difficult.

Viewers believe Robyn staying with Kody will have consequences

In a Reddit thread, Sister Wives viewers believe Robyn Brown will stay with Kody Brown. But, her decision will have consequences.

“Robyn will never leave. Her whole identity is wrapped up in Kody, the sister wives franchise, and her sob story,” wrote one viewer.

“She literally has nowhere else to go. If she truly believed polygamy was her only route to salvation, she would be demanding Kody add more wives or she’d be fleeing to sign up with another plyg family. But she won’t. She got what she wanted and she’s going nowhere. She wants Kody and he wants her; she wins.”

A second Redditor believes, “I wouldn’t necessarily say she “won”. First of all she is stuck with Kody for the rest of her life so there’s that. But beyond that, they seem to live a very isolated and lonely life.”

They continued, “She isn’t seen in public very often. In the few pictures that fans have gotten she is either shopping or at a restaurant with Kody. She doesn’t appear to have any social life and just lives in a little bubble with Kody and the kids.”

Finally, a third fan claims, “Robyn has nothing to bring to a new reality show, a job of any kind, or a relationship. She’s peaked; there’s nothing good waiting for her around the corner. Either she stays with Kody and they continue to make each other miserable, or she ditches him and spends her time single.”

At this point, Robyn Brown has no plans to leave Kody Brown. She lives a lavish lifestyle, her children are well taken care of, and she’s recently purchased a multimillion-dollar home with Kody.

Robyn has been steadfastly loyal to Kody, even as the family dynamic has dramatically shifted. She’s remained the closest to him and at times, has mirrored his behavior toward Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown to show solidarity with her husband.

Robyn has expressed her commitment to their marriage and her belief in a polygamous lifestyle, even though Kody has stated he no longer considers himself part of that religious faith. While she seems unlikely to leave Kody at the moment, anything could change in the future, especially if circumstances within their relationship push Robyn to choose whether or not to remain in this relationship.

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
