Sneak Peek at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024 as Veteran Models Return for 1st Runway in 4 Years
After working with Victoria’s Secret for 20 years, Adriana Lima announced her retirement from the lingerie and clothing brand in 2018. Now, the supermodel is back and sexier than ever at 43. Lima took to Instagram to announce her return as Victoria’s Secret also celebrates a comeback five years after their last runway show. Candice Swanepoel has walked in 11 Victoria’s Secret fashion shows from 2007-19. She missed one runway presentation in 2016 because she was pregnant. The South African model became an official Angel in 2010 and wore the $10 million VS Fantasy Bra in 2013. She’s back in 2024 after spending the last several years raising her two sons and working on her swimwear line, Tropic of C.
Tyra Banks is returning to the Victoria’s Secret runway after two decades away. She walked in 10 consecutive shows and served as an official Angel from 1997-2005, wearing two Fantasy Bras during that time. Banks’ last show occurred in 2005. Since then, she’s been committed to her acting career, family, and hosting duties on Dancing with the Stars and elsewhere.
Gigi Hadid is back. The model and TV personality has walked in three Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows, including 2016, 2018, and 2023. She was supposed to participate in the 2017 show, which took place in Shanghai, but China revoked her visa after a controversial video appeared online regarding Hadid imitating Buddha. Since then, Hadid’s modeling career has soared to new heights as she expands her empire. The Vogue cover star has co-hosted Netflix’s Next in Fashion and given birth to a daughter, Khai.
Adriana Lima will walk in her 19th VS Fashion Show tonight. The Brazilian model was an official Angel from 2000-2018, missing one show in 2009 while pregnant. The last time she wore a Fantasy Bra was in 2018, making it her third time receiving the honor.
In addition to Lima, several veterans will reprise their angel wings, including Taylor Hill, Barbara Palvin, Behati Prinsloo, Mayowa Nicholas, Jasmine Tookes, Behati Prinsloo, and Alessandra Ambrosio.
Victoria’s Secret announced several newbies as well. Paloma Elsesser and Devyn Garcia will walk the runway for the first time. Elsesser told VS, “It feels empowering to be embracing femininity and redefining what beauty means on a global stage.” Another newcomer, Ashley Graham, is no rookie to runways. But she will make her Victoria’s Secret debut at the 2024 show.
Throughout the show, several female artists will perform, including Cher, Tyla, and K-pop’s Lisa. Victoria’s Secret explained on social media, “It’s a woman’s world, so it’s understood that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself—@Cher! We’re beyond excited to announce she will officially be performing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024.”
Catch the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Amazon Prime Video tonight (Tuesday, October 15). The runway presentation starts at 7 pm EST. However, you can catch coverage of the “pink carpet” beginning at 6:30 pm EST.
In addition to the live show, Amazon Prime Video will include a special shopping feature for viewers to peruse online.
