Why Some Think Prince Harry and Prince Andrew’s Ex-Wife Sarah Ferguson Secretly Met Up in New York
Prince Harry was in New York City for a number of events during Climate Week including the Concordia Annual Summit and the Clinton Global Initiative. The duke traveled to the Big Apple without his wife, but there was another duchess in town at the same time.
Sarah Ferguson was also in New York when her nephew was. Royal watchers learned that when Prince Andrew’s ex-wife took to Instagram and posted a behind-the-scenes video sharing that she was in Manhattan for Climate Week. Of course, many commenters questioned if Sarah was going to meet up with Prince Harry, while others speculated that she already had.
Here’s what sources have just revealed about a secret meeting between the Duchess of York, the Duke of Sussex, and another royal who also touched down in NYC for the week.
Prince Harry’s relationship with his Aunt Sarah has become a mystery
Prince Harry’s relationship with his Aunt Sarah is somewhat of a mystery. While Fergie was once very close with Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, and their children played together often when they were kids, how Sarah and Harry get along now isn’t completely clear. Both of her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, remained tight with Meghan and Harry after they stepped down and moved to California. But in 2023, Sarah claimed that she “never really met Meghan” and “didn’t really know her.”
So how close could Fergie be with Harry if she never met his wife, or did she meet Meghan?
Sarah’s comments about not knowing Meghan raised eyebrows because during the Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, she relayed a story about meeting Queen Elizabeth for the first time. Meghan said that Sarah was there with her that day and even taught her how to curtsy in the late monarch’s presence. And according to the former Suits star, the meeting even occurred at Royal Lodge, the home where Sarah and Prince Andrew live.
Moreover, in the Sussexes’ Netflix documentary, Meghan said that after she met the queen, Princess Eugenie and Sarah congratulated her telling her she had been “great.”
Some fans think Harry had a secret meet-up with Sarah and Princess Beatrice too
The Duchess of York was joined during her NYC trip by her daughter, Princess Beatrice. She arrived on Sept. 24, and after attending an event to mark Climate Week with her mother, Beatrice co-hosted a lunch for the Anti-Slavery Collective, a charity she co-founded with Princess Eugenie.
The Sussexes and the York sisters have become more distant ever since King Charles and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) were diagnosed with cancer. Beatrice has been attending more functions with the working royals, and Eugenie pledged her allegiance to always “support her family” after attending a garden party hosted by Prince William.
Now though, some fans believe Beatrice and Sarah decided to meet up with Prince Harry while they were all in Manhattan since they don’t get to see each other often.
But despite being on the same side of the pond at the same time, sources have told Express that the trio hasn’t yet and likely won’t meet up because they are very busy and therefore no plans to try and get together have been added to their diaries.
