Soobin Wants TXT to Make ‘Music That Brings People More Comfort’

In an interview with Billboard, the five members of TXT discussed the making of their new EP 'minisode 2: Thursday's Child.'

What Soobin hopes for TXT’s music going forward

Since they debuted in 2019, TXT has become known as a voice for teenagers and Gen Z listeners. However, Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai have repeatedly shared they want their music to be relatable to everyone on some level.

In the interview with Billboard, Soobin shared his hope that TXT will make “music that brings people more comfort.”

“A lot of people tell us that when they listen to our music, they feel ‘Oh, this is just like me. This is what I’m going through.’ So, when people listen to our music, I want them to find our music relatable. I want our music to bring them comfort. I wanna keep on doing music that brings people more comfort,” said Soobin.

‘minisode 2: Thursday’s Child’ is a new concept for the band

As their sound continues to evolve, minisode 2: Thursday’s Child is TXT’s first truly dark concept. It deals with mature themes and complex emotions following a breakup.

“Concept-wise, music-wise and performance-wise, this is something that we have never tried before. I think this is the darkest concept and theme that we have ever tried. I think this album can show people that even TOMORROW X TOGETHER can pull this off,” Taehyun told Billboard.

In July, TXT will embark on their first world tour, TOMORROW X TOGETHER WORLD TOUR <ACT: LOVE SICK>.

“Now that we can meet our fans in person and bring our performances to them, I’m really glad that we can finally do that. You know, the energy they bring is real; it really helps when they’re there in person. I really can’t wait to meet them through our tour,” Yeonjun said in the Billboard interview.

Soobin thinks TXT ‘don’t have any limits’

With each album release, the members of TXT try new music genres, become more involved in the music-making process, and rank higher on music charts.

Because of this, Soobin thinks the members of TXT “don’t have any limits.”

“As we have more years and even more albums under our belts, we’re getting better outcomes and better numbers. We have [also] tried many genres in music. As we work on more and more albums, [I feel like] we don’t have any limits. We’ve taken this musical journey step by step,” he told Billboard.
