Source Claims Kim and Kourtney Kardashian’s ‘KUWTK’ Fight Is ‘Exaggerated’ for Dramatic Effect
How much of reality TV is real? When fans saw a blip of the physical fight between Kim and Kourtney Kardashian in the KUWTK promo for season 18, many wondered if they were playing it up for the cameras. One source reveals that the fight is fake, exaggerated for extra drama.
There was so much drama last season
Season 17 of KUWTK offered up plenty of drama, as Kourtney started wanting less of her personal life filmed and more boundaries in place. Kourtney made her case during a family meeting, explaining, “My well-being is more important than the show. I’m not giving in and I’m not going to change my boundaries. That’s not gonna happen.”
That didn’t sit well with her sisters, who found that Kourtney doing less sharing meant they had to do more.
“Our job is being open and honest and sharing a lot of ourselves, and it just seems for the past few years now, Kourtney hasn’t really been open about her personal life on camera. So all of the days that Kourtney isn’t filming, Khloe and I are picking up the slack and having to share more. Cause if we’re not sharing our lives, then what is the show?,” Kim explained on camera.
Kim and Kourtney Kardashian get in a huge fight
The promo promises plenty of drama, as a big fight between Kim and Kourtney breaks out. “You have nothing to say” Kourtney yelled at Kim, who fired back, “Don’t ever come at me like that,” then lunged towards her sister.
When momager Kris Jenner sat down for a Feb. 27 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the talk show host had to find out more about the dramatic fight.
“Actually, I wasn’t there when they had that argument, and I have not seen them really fight like that since they were in high school,” Jenner explained. “Or there was one time I think it was way back when — did anybody see — when Kim beat one of the kids over the head with her purse because her rims on her car weren’t right? It was so silly. It took me back to that, but it made me really sad.”
“I was like, ‘You guys can’t be fighting with each other, that’s ridiculous,’” she added.
Was the fight fake?
While fans have speculated that Kim and Kourtney faked the fight to draw more viewers into watching how it plays out, a source confirmed with The Sun that it was, in fact, “really exaggerated.”
“It really didn’t escalate to anything other than a shove and Kim didn’t land the punch. It’s really exaggerated for TV. Made for TV drama,” the insider shared. “They really don’t hate each other, and mom Kris [Jenner] would NEVER let there be actual violence.”
The source added: “Sometimes they do fight because Kourtney is jealous Kim is more successful, and it’s true Kim didn’t believe Kourtney was pulling her weight on the show.”
