‘Southern Charm’: Craig Conover Wanted Naomie Olindo to Return This Season – ‘She Came Clean About Everything’
Craig Conover was a “huge proponent” of ex-girlfriend Naomie Olindo’s return to Southern Charm. And he said his formerly fractured friendship with Olindo comes full circle.
Conover’s heart was broken when he and Olindo split after she continuously dogged him for trying to turn a sewing hobby into a business. Not only did Conover succeed but his business, Sewing Down South is thriving. Plus he’s opened a law firm and recently wrote a book. He said she finally apologized to him in the upcoming season, an apology he’s always wanted.
Naomie Olindo apologized to Craig Conover
Conover was partially behind Olindo’s return to Southern Charm Season 8. “I was a big proponent of [her return],” Conover said to Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host Andy Cohen when asked if he was upset that Olindo returned.
“She came clean about everything,” he said on the WWHL After Show. “She apologized to everyone that she needed to [including him]. And she said everything everyone has always wanted her to say to me. And great. She said she was sorry. And was honest about it.”
Cohen joked about the “everyone” remark. “[It was]me and others I’ve heard others mention it before,” he laughed. “It brings it all home and I think people are going to enjoy this season.”
They recently reconnected during her return to the show
Despite their previously frosty relationship after the breakup, Conover reached out to Olindo after her breakup with Metul Shah. “So when all of that went down, obviously she was a big part of my life,” Conover said on his Pillows and Beer podcast, which he hosts with Austen Kroll.
“We talked on the phone once. One time. Because it’s been three years, four years. And at the end of the day, I feel like in my life, with my exes I feel like I can pick up the phone with them and nothing ever happened. But a lot happened.”
Conover observed that he and Olindo never actually “ended” their relationship and still needed closure. “We never ended it,” he laughed. “No one actually did. We just one day never talked again. But also guys, don’t freak out. I’m not saying there is a future. No. But I’ve been able to since the Bahamas to speak objectively about this.”
“So, there’s nothing juicy. But we’ve talked,” he added.
Olindo said she feels good about where she is with Conover. And said she likes his new girlfriend Paige DeSorbo from Summer House. “He’s dating someone who I really like. Paige is great,” Olindo said on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast.
Craig Conover teases an ‘old school’ return to ‘Southern Charm’
During his WWHL After Show appearance, Conover teased “old school” Southern Charm this season. “This will be one of our original, OG seasons,” he remarked. “It’s really, really good. When people think Southern Charm, this is the season.”
“It’s going to be a long season,” he continued. “And there’s stuff that happens that you just can’t make up.”
