Within a span of a week, three cast members officially quit. Additionally, Kathryn Dennis had a racially charged exchange with a local radio host. Cameran Eubanks planned to issue a statement about her departure. Instead, she had to address rumors that her husband cheated on her. The rumor proved to be false.

Meanwhile, the series isn’t currently in production. Filming was paused due to the pandemic. Some of the current season has already been filmed so Southern Charm is likely to move forward with another season. However, the departure flood may have peeled back the curtain of underlying drama that some cast members will no longer tolerate.

Gossip and backstabbing prompted cast members’ departures

Allegations that Eubanks’ husband cheated on her were quickly dismissed. Apparently, it was Dennis who allegedly started the rumor that Eubanks’ husband had an affair. Dennis allegedly said local makeup artist, Rebecca Wash was the mistress in question. This allegation prompted Wash to release a statement on Instagram.

“The allegations that this rumor was started by Kathryn Dennis are even more hurtful,” she wrote.

“I met Kathryn one time in July 2018 when I did her makeup for a photoshoot for a local clothing store,” Wash continued. “I have not seen or spoken to Kathryn since.”

Adding, “I have only known her in my limited interaction in a professional capacity, and to suggest that I am somehow associated with these allegations is dumbfounding, hurtful, and malicious.”

Naomie Olindo reveals why some cast members quit the show

Olindo could no longer remain quiet. The cheating allegations, plus the racial spat were some reasons why she and others left the show.

“To all those asking why Cameran, Chelsea and I (and anyone with a life they want to protect), quit the show, it’s sh*t like this,” Olindo shared on her Instagram story, The Post and Courier reports. She added, “Shame on you Kathryn Dennis for this and many other things.”

Olindo embraced Dennis during the last few seasons. She cheered for Dennis’ sobriety. Plus she supported Dennis in her pursuit to obtain custody of her children. When Dennis went missing at one point, Olindo seemed overwhelmed with anxiety to find her.

Eubanks made the decision to leave months ago

“My decision was made and given to Bravo months ago and had absolutely nothing to do with ridiculous and fake rumors about my marriage,” Eubanks wrote in her Instagram post. “Please disregard any fabricated rumor. It’s a ploy for ratings and that’s it.”

The writing was on the wall last season. She was a new mother trying to juggle work and motherhood. Throw in the demands of filming a series and Eubanks likely just had enough. Like Olindo, Eubanks also supported Dennis in recent years too.

“No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind,” she shared along with a photo. “Buy the ticket, take the ride… and if it occasionally gets a little heavier than what you had in mind, well… maybe chalk it off to forced consciousness expansion.” ❤️”
