‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Star Tom Holland Dreams of Playing James Bond After Leaving Marvel
Tom Holland has a bright future in Hollywood, even if he might not want to be an actor forever. But following his portrayal of Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s clear that Holland could play almost any character he wanted to. And, according to one of his Spider-Man co-stars, Tom Holland may have a chance at playing James Bond one day.
Tom Holland is unsure of his future following ‘Spider-Man’
GQ appointed Spider-Man actor Tom Holland the “Superhero of the Year” in their December/January 2022 issue. In the cover story, Holland pondered his future beyond acting. And let’s just say that his ideas for the future are neverending.
“I definitely don’t think I want to be an actor for the rest of my life,” he revealed. “I’ve always been really good with my hands. If something’s broken, I can always figure out a way of fixing it.” Holland also admitted that he dreams of “buying apartment buildings and renting them out cheaper than they need to be because I don’t need the money.”
Or, perhaps, Holland can have a more simple life while still dipping his toes in the world of cinema.
“I’d be very content with just being a stay-at-home dad and producing a film here and there,” he said. “I might start shooting The Crowded Room and go, ‘You know what, this is what I’m going to do for the rest of my life.’ Or I might do Spider-Man 4, 5, and 6, finish when I’m 32, and never make another. I’m not sure what I want to do.”
The world is truly Holland’s oyster, but his dreams don’t stop there. The Spider-Man actor also fantasizes about signing on to be in a different mega film franchise.
Could the Marvel actor play 007?
Tom Holland is British, and he’s proven he can play an action hero thanks to Spider-Man. So he’s basically James Bond already.
Holland’s Spider-Man co-star Jacob Batalon told GQ, “[Holland] talks about being James Bond a lot. A lot a lot.”
We can see Tom Holland leaving Spider-Man behind one day and taking on the more mature role of James Bond. However, he might have to wait a few more years before he gets the chance to play an MI6 secret agent.
‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ producer claims that Tom Holland has signed on for 3 more Marvel films
During an interview with Fandango for the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home, producer Amy Pascal shockingly revealed that Tom Holland is nowhere near done with the MCU.
“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” Pascal said. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go on to the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
Perhaps Holland was right when he talked about doing Spider-Man 4, 5, and 6. However, the actor has not confirmed Pascal’s report, so his dream of playing James Bond might still be alive.
Spider-Man: No Way Home, starring Tom Holland, premieres exclusively in theaters on Dec. 17.
