‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Star Tom Holland Wants to Team up With Florence Pugh in Next Marvel Film
Tom Holland is already looking forward to his next Marvel Cinematic Universe film after Spider-Man: No Way Home. During the third Spider-Man movie’s premiere, the actor who plays Peter Parker revealed which of the new members of the Marvel family he wants to work with the most. And we have a good feeling that Holland is not the only one dying to work with Florence Pugh.
Tom Holland discusses wanting to work with Florence Pugh at premiere of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’
Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland spoke with Entertainment Tonight and expressed his dream about working with Florence Pugh in the MCU.
“I want to work with Florence Pugh,” Holland revealed. “I think she’s amazing. She’s so good in [Black Widow] and all the movies that she’s done. I think she’s fantastic. So, I think a really cool Spider-Man, Black Widow movie would be a fun little twist.”
While Peter Parker and Natasha Romanoff were both on Team Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War, they never directly interacted in the MCU. So, it would be interesting to see Peter team up with Natasha’s sister, Yelena. And we know that there have been rumors of a Young Avengers film floating around, so perhaps that could be Tom Holland’s next project after Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Who does Florence Pugh play in the MCU?
While there are bound to be many surprises in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s unlikely that Florence Pugh will appear to help Tom Holland’s character fix the multiverse.
Pugh plays Yelena Belova, Natasha Romanoff’s adopted sister, in the MCU. The actor first appeared in Black Widow and is currently starring in Hawkeye on Disney+. And going off of fans’ reactions to her character, it’s safe to say that Pugh has a bright future at Marvel.
Although Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are being cryptic when it comes to Tom Holland’s future in the MCU, there’s a good possibility that Peter and Yelena can team up one day.
Does Tom Holland have a future with Marvel after ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’?
When Tom Holland spoke with Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner at the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere, Turner talked about how Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and producer Amy Pascal want to bring him back for more movies.
“Well, that’s great news. That’s awesome,” Holland said. “Kevin is the king. Amy is the queen. They’re like my parents. I love them to bits. And if they’ll have me back, I’ll be there.”
At the premiere, Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman spoke to ComicBook.com about plans for future movies starring Holland. He said, “No specific plans. But it’s reciprocal. We lend one, then [Marvel Studios] lends one, and that’s how Benedict [Cumberbatch] is in this movie, so we have one more lend back that is committed.”
So, Holland may or may not be starring in another Spider-Man trilogy, but he will appear in one more MCU movie. Perhaps the actor will get the chance to work with Florence Pugh, after all.
Spider-Man: No Way Home premieres exclusively in theaters on Dec. 17.
