‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’: Tom Holland Teases ‘Very Violent’ Fight Scenes
After months of rumors and speculation, fans can’t wait to revel in all the surprises Spider-Man: No Way Home brings. We already know some of Spider-Man’s foes from the multiverse will appear. And now, as revealed by Tom Holland, we also know that the superhero’s fight scenes will be more violent than expected.
The ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ release date is Dec. 17
It’s been a long time coming. But luckily, Marvel’s highly-anticipated new Spider-Man movie is finally here. Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on Dec. 17. Tickets went on sale on Nov. 29.
Home viewers should be able to catch the movie streaming on Disney+ a few months after its release. Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as M.J., and Jacob Batalon as Ned. The all-star cast also features Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx, J.K. Simmons, and Alfred Molina.
Tom Holland suggests some ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ fight scenes will be violent
In the last two Spider-Man films, Holland’s fight scenes were action-packed and exciting. But according to the actor, No Way Home is taking a different approach with its action sequences. And this time around, our friendly neighborhood superhero will find himself in some pretty violent battles.
“There are some fight scenes in this movie that are very violent,” Holland said in an interview with TV Globo. “And it’s a fighting style different from what we’ve seen before. But really, you will get to see Spider-Man using his fists in a fight or flight situation.”
Fans will get to see more of Tom Holland as Peter Parker
Most fans can agree that Holland is one of the best Spideys ever. So when Holland revealed that his contract with Sony was only for three films, everyone expected Spider-Man: No Way Home to be his last.
Luckily, Holland’s journey as Peter Parker is not yet over. On Nov. 29, No Way Home producer Amy Pascal announced that the studio has three more Spider-Man films in the works. And she revealed that Holland has signed on for all of them.
“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” Pascal told Fandango. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go on to the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
When asked about what fans can expect to see of Holland’s Spider-Man in the future, Pascal said many things still need to be worked out.
“I would say there’s so many things that we’re going to be able to explore,” Pascal suggested. “But what we always have to do before we decide who the villain is going to be and what Spidey goes up against is what is the story we’re telling about? You know, what’s the Peter Parker story we’re telling?”
“But we always have to start with that,” she added. “The good thing about these movies is as big as the canvas they take place on can be, they are always just stories about a kid.”
