‘Star Wars:’ Rey Skywalker’s Best Quotes From the Sequel Trilogy
This character came a long way from being a scavenger on Jakku. Now, she’s a Skywalker and a Jedi with a chosen family and a galaxy saved by the resistance. Here are a few of our favorite quotes from Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy movies — The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker.
From ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
“This is the ship that made the Kessel Run in fourteen parsecs?”
Twelve. Even though she lived alone on Jakku, Rey still heard the stories of Luke Skywalker and the Jedis. She thought they were just a myth. That is, until she runs into the war hero/smuggler Han Solo and the adorable Chewbacca.
It’s this interaction and her run-in with BB-8 that leads her to Kylo Ren and, eventually, the path of the Jedi. She ends this movie by finding Luke Skywalker on a remote island and extending his lightsaber to him.
From ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’
“You failed him by thinking his choice was made. It wasn’t! There’s still conflict in him. If he would turn from the Dark Side, that could shift the tide! This could be how we win!”
This movie brings the start of Kylo Ren and Rey’s force connection. After connecting with Kylo Ren, Rey confronted Luke, pretty much predicting the future. It’s because Rey goes to Kylo Ren that the two worked together to kill Snoke.
Unfortunately, when Kylo Ren offered Rey his hand, she can’t really take it. He had plans to bring a “new order” to the galaxy and Rey just wanted to save her friends in the resistance. It’s not until The Rise of Skywalker that Kylo Ren actually joined Rey as Ben Solo, the son of Leia Skywalker and Han Solo.
From ‘The Rise of Skywalker’
“And I am all the Jedi.”
She’s not a scavenger and she’s not “nobody.” During this movie, Rey discovers something new about herself — she’s actually the granddaughter of the Sith Lord Palpatine. She has to make a choice and instead of running from her darkness, she embraces who she is. Oh, and she saves the resistance and destroys Palpatine in the process.
It’s also Rey’s light that helps bring Ben Solo back, the dyad joining forces one final time before Ben sacrificed himself. In having her own lightsaber and taking the Skywalker name, fans expect Rey to be going on a number of new adventures with BB-8 outside of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
