Harrison Ford is one of the biggest stars of all time. He has played such iconic movie heroes as Han Solo and Indiana Jones and has even received acclaim for his skill at playing dramatic roles.
Even at an age when many stars would have long since retired, Ford is still soldiering on and will be living out the famous writer Jack London’s work in the upcoming action film Call of the Wild. In addition to being the world’s favorite action hero on screen, Ford also does a lot of adventuring in real life as well and has even been known to save lives from time to time.

Harrison Ford has rescued several people in real life
Ford has also become well known for his habit of doing heroic things in real life. The actor, who has a pilot’s license, regularly flies his helicopter over semi-deserted areas all over the United States, searching for ways to do good.
Notoriously, in 2001, Ford rescued a stranded 13-year old Boy Scout who had gone missing in Yellowstone National Park. There was an active search in progress when Ford decided to join the rescue effort and ended up being the one to locate the missing boy.
After finding him, Ford landed his helicopter, scooped up the boy, and returned him to the authorities, no worse for wear.
Ford also once rescued a pair of stranded female hikers who were starting to become delirious due to dehydration and heat. Ford, wearing a cowboy hat, flew in to rescue, no doubt giving the hikers the surprise of their lives.
For Ford, being a hero in real life has almost become second nature.
