Is Starlord (From ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’) in ‘Avengers: Endgame’?
He’s pretty impulsive, especially when his love for Gamora is involved. However, at the end of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, Starlord (also known as Peter Quill,) is one of the characters who disappeared at the hands of Thanos.
What exactly happened at the end of Avengers: Endgame? Does Starlord come back in this Marvel film? Here’s what we know about this music-loving character.
Yes, Starlord from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ re-appears in ‘Avengers: Endgame’
Unfortunately, Starlord was part of the universe that got “dusted” in Avengers: Infinity War. However, he wasn’t the only Guardians of the Galaxy character who suffered that fate.
Characters like Groot, Drax, and Mantis were largely missing from the Avengers blockbuster, Endgame. Gamora, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky. Thanos killed her in search of the soul stone, but, thankfully, there are still other versions of Gamora throughout time.
In Avengers: Endgame, Gamora from 2014 reunites with her sister and the rest of her friends. That includes Starlord, who joins the fight against Thanos when Hulk brings everybody back.
Fans first met Starlord in movies like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’
Although he appears in a few movies alongside characters like Captain America and Iron Man, fans mostly learned about Starlord (real name Peter Quill,) is the star of his music-centered movie, Guardians of the Galaxy.
It’s there that he meets Gamora, Groot, Rocket, and Drax. Fans went on more adventures with the Guardians thanks to the sequel to their original Marvel film, titled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Starlord learned more about his family and who, exactly, his father is.
This character will presumably appear in a few future Avengers movies, especially with news from Marvel that this character is bisexual both in the comic books and within the MCU. Plus, Endgame ends on a bit of a cliffhanger for Starlord and the rest of the Guardians.
Starlord will return for another ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie
An extended clip of this Marvel movie revealed that Gamora, Starlord’s love interest, wandered off after Thanos’ defeat. Minus this fierce fighter, the rest of the Guardians characters piled into their ship with Thor.
There’s, of course, a bit of disagreement regarding who is in charge, which can hopefully be resolved without knives. It’s not confirmed what the story for this upcoming movie will be. However, some expect Starlord to reunite with Gamora.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has a set premiere date for 2023. The Marvel release schedule has been impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. That includes the film starring Scarlett Johansson, Black Widow.
Until then, movies already released by Marvel are available for streaming on Disney+. That includes Guardians of the Galaxy and the blockbuster Avengers flick, Endgame.
