The ‘Station 19’ Season 3 Finale Promo Has Everyone Freaking Out Over Jack and Sullivan
Station 19 left fans hanging on the edge of their seats on Thursday, May 7. The Grey’s Anatomy firefighter spinoff put everyone on the line, whether it was the character’s heart or life. Then in the Station 19 Season 3 finale promo, viewers expected the epic arrival of Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), but received some worrying clips featuring Jack Gibson (Grey Damon) and Robert Sullivan (Boris Kodjoe). So brace yourselves.
[Spoiler alert: The Station 19 Season 3 finale.]
The ‘Station 19’ Season 3 Episode 16 promo teases a grand finale
The Station 19 Season 3 Episode 16 promo trailer opens with the appearance of Grey’s Anatomy’s Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone). She is holding a chart as Sullivan says from a hospital bed, “The surgery is happening.” Then the neurosurgeon replies, “Oh, it’s happening.”
Later, viewers see Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) freaking out over Sullivan’s procedure. “My husband’s in surgery,” she says, her eyes filled with tears. And as it turns out, Andy is speaking with Meredith. But then Meredith apologizes to Andy, who suddenly collapses in the general surgeon’s arms.
Meanwhile, the rest of the A-team is on the job. And as always, everyone is in danger.
“We have five fighters trapped in the basement with a suspicious device,” Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre) says. “And now we have no communication.”
Then Jack, Dean Miller (Okieriete Onaodowan), Ben Warren (Jason George), Travis Montgomery (Jay Hayden), and Vic Hughes (Barrett Doss) find a bomb. And as the firefighters lower themselves for protection, one member takes the bomb into his own hands. It’s Jack. The preview jumps to black as an explosion is heard.
Now let’s just hope Jack and Sullivan both make it out alive. And hopefully, the ending of the Station 19 finale doesn’t end like the Grey’s Anatomy bomb episode from 2006. You know, the one where Meredith puts her hand on a bomb before Dylan Young (Kyle Chandler) carries it out and gets blown up as Anna Nalick’s “Breathe (2 AM)” plays in the background.
What will happen in the ‘Station 19’ Season 3 finale?
Previously, showrunner Krista Vernoff teased a potential crossover between Station19 and Grey’s Anatomy on May 14. During an interview with TVLine, she explained the spinoff could reveal what big event Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 had planned before the season was cut short by four episodes due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Meanwhile, the publication reported the original Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 finale was meant to include an explosion that could set up a major character’s death. Vernoff was unable to confirm or deny the storyline.
Nevertheless, the Station 19 Season 3 finale promo confirmed the firefighters will be dealing with bombs. So it seems likely an explosion may happen and the five members from A-team are at risk. But no one from the Grey’s Anatomy team is present in those scenes.
The preview also highlighted Amelia and Meredith’s appearances. Then in the Station 19 Season 3 Episode 16 press release, ABC confirmed Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) will pop in. The release also gives some context to the Station 19 finale promo.
According to the finale’s synopsis, Andy will be struggling with her mother’s death. She also goes to her aunt for some answers. In the preview, Andy is comforted by Meredith as she waits for Sullivan’s procedure. However, it’s possible Sullivan is doing fine and Andy falls apart because of what she discovers about her family. But of course, fans will have to wait and see what happens.
Then the Station 19 finale synopsis reveals the rest of the firefighters are at Pac-North. They are sent to the hospital to evacuate a doctor. But they find themselves in a “life-threatening situation.”
Now we’re dying to see what happens in the Station 19 Season 3 finale on May 14. For the time being, Sullivan and Jack appear to be the ones in the most danger. But as we all know, anything we’ve seen in the previews could be a fake out. So stay tuned. This is going to be one emotional ride.
