ABC’s Station 19 viewers hate how long the winter break is, and after a production delay, new episodes of season 5 might be delayed even longer. Is ‘Station 19’ on tonight?

ABC’s Station 19 is not on tonight, Jan. 6, 2022. Instead of the firefighter drama, ABC fills the time slot with a new historical series, Women of the Movement. The Jay-Z and Will Smith produced six-part series tells the true story of Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley. In 1955, white men brutally murdered 14-year-old Emmett (played by Cedric Joe). That same year an all-white jury found Roy Bryant and J. W. Milam not guilty despite several witness testimonies. The new show details the lengths that Emmett’s mother, Mamie, had to go to fight for justice for her son.

‘Station 19’ Season 5 expected return date is Feb. 24

On Jan. 5, 2022, sources reported to TVLine that ABC paused production for Grey’s AnatomyStation 19, and The Rookie. According to the outlet, ABC Signature pushed production back for the three shows out of caution for the Omicron coronavirus surge running rampant throughout the nation. However, the sources noted no specific outbreaks within the cast or production of the three shows.

Despite the production delay, Station 19 Season 5 and Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 will both return on Feb. 24, 2022. The delay won’t push back the dramatic Station 19 Grey’s Anatomy crossover event planned for that evening as of right now.

Someone might die when ‘Station 19’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ return

During the Dec. 16 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Cormac Hayes (Richard Flood) climbed out of a crashed vehicle. After he safely exited, the SUV fell 100 feet over Leon’s Ridge. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) was the last remaining survivor in the vehicle before the fall. When Station 19 Season 5 Episode 9 returns, Ben Warren (Jason George) frantically tries to save Owen. He gathers his team and rushes to the scene of the accident.

However, in the Station 19 Grey’s Anatomy crossover event trailer, viewers watch as the firefighters discover one civilian without a pulse.

Although the civilian described in the trailer is probably the SUV’s driver. He had a stroke in the Dec. 16 episode, which caused the crash. However, Owen’s fate is still shaky. Could he survive the 100-foot drop over the side of a cliff? Ben recently lost a fellow firefighter,  Dean Miller (Okieriete Onaodowan), and the entire station is still grieving his death. Could the writers throw another death their way?

According to ABCStation 19 Season 5 Episode 4 returns on Feb. 24, 2022.
