Steffy Might Be Pregnant Again on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’
Sometimes TV shows find themselves having to work around a storyline to suit an actor’s pregnancy. While many resort to hiding the pregnancy using props, others prefer to work it into the storyline. For The Bold and The Beautiful‘s Steffy Forrester, her storyline has mainly revolved around her romance and marriage to Finn and pregnancies in the past few years.
The writers felt it best to add her two actual pregnancies into the storyline. However, it seems the actor who plays Steffy might be pregnant again. So how will the show address it?
Is Steffy pregnant again?
Steffy has been through a lot, so it’s only fair to call her a survivor. She has loved and lost and almost died after being in a motorbike accident. She, however, found love with her new beau John Finnegan and, until recently, it seemed all was going smoothly.
Over the past few years, the B&B writers opted to incorporate actor Jacqueline McInnes Wood’s back-to-back pregnancies into the storyline and use them for good TV. Wood’s first son, Rise, was born in 2019, which the show addressed as her character’s daughter, Kelly, with Liam Spencer. Wood’s second child Lenix born in 2021, gave the show fodder with the writers adding her newest addition to the show as Finn’s son Hayes.
It isn’t lost on B&B fans that Steffy’s last delivery wasn’t as easy as the first one. Steffy had a very dramatic water birth that almost left her dead. Regardless of all that drama, it seemed Steffy could be pregnant a third time because of Wood’s actual pregnancy.
How will the show handle the pregnancy?
In recent episodes, fans were shocked to see Finn die and Steffy land in a coma. So what does this mean for Steffy? Could she still be pregnant?
With soap operas, anything is possible. However, for now, it appears that Steffy is not pregnant and The Bold and the Beautiful writers chose to hide Wood’s pregnancy this time around. Steffy’s coma seems to be perfectly timed for Wood to go on maternity leave, and it is unknown what will happen to the character, as Wood recently revealed there are many “twists and turns” on the way.
Fan reactions to Wood’s pregnancy announcement
2021 was a huge year for Wood, who not only won her second Daytime Emmy but also brought her second child into the world. The Bold and The Beautiful actor shared with PEOPLE that she and her husband, Elan Ruspoli had a third child on the way.
The announcement came less than a year after the birth of her second child, with the actor revealing that the third baby is due in spring. When the show tweeted about the news, fans were excited, and although congratulatory messages followed, fans had plenty to say about the pregnancy.
One fan said, “I’m happy for Jacqueline and her husband, but I truly hope Bradley Bell doesn’t include her pregnancy in the soap again.” Other fans were concerned that this would be another stressful experience for Steffy as she would have to conduct another DNA test to determine the child’s paternity, as is the norm with the character, but it’s safe to say fans won’t be seeing a pregnancy storyline with Steffy anytime soon.
