Stevie Nicks Once Said There’s Been Only 1 Man She Could ‘Truly Have Lived With Happily Every Single Day’ for the Rest of Her Life
Some of Stevie Nicks’ relationships have been more successful than others. Though she’s single now, she reflects fondly on one particular boyfriend. She explained that she felt happy to be with him all the time, something that’s only happened for her once. She explained how she felt in this relationship and gave a fleeting hint at who her former partner was.

After pursuing a music career together, Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham began a romantic relationship. While she worked to support them, he practiced music at home, which added a certain level of tension to their relationship. Their first album as a duo flopped financially, and their label dropped them.
When they joined Fleetwood Mac, the dynamic of working together while dating exacerbated their already existing problems. While recording Rumours, their second album with the band, the pair broke up. They’ve had a tense dynamic ever since.
After this relationship, Nicks went on to date other figures in the music industry, including Don Henley and Joe Walsh of The Eagles, her bandmate Mick Fleetwood, and record executive Jimmy Iovine.

Nicks believes that her demanding career makes it difficult to foster a long-lasting relationship. Still, she said there’s one person who she thinks could have dealt with her lifestyle.
“I look back on all the men in my life, and there was only one that I can honestly say I could truly have lived with happily every single day for the rest of my life, because there was respect and we loved to do the same things,” she told Sheryl Crow for Interview Magazine, per Rock a Little. “I was very content with him all the time. That’s only happened once in my life.”
Nicks believes she could have happily married this person. She’s highly independent, so feeling like this is rare for her.
“This man, if he’d asked me to marry him, I would have,” she said. “And for reasons unbeknownst, that had nothing to do with him and me, it just could not go on, it had to stop. So I think it could happen to us, it just all depends on your luck, and if we happen to meet that right person. There are people in the world who would not be jealous of us, who would love our friends and enjoy our craziness.”
Though she said she couldn’t name the man, she did provide a small hint by confirming that he’s a musician as well.

She’s happily single now, but Nicks says she won’t fully close the door on the possibility of a relationship. She says she’s a romantic who has fallen in love at first sight.
“I am always a romantic and I’m never averse to the fact that it is possible that you might turn a street corner and walk into somebody that just catches your eye, because it’s happened to me a million times,” she told The Guardian. “So, could I fall in love and run away with somebody at 72 years old? Yeah. It’s probably not gonna happen, but it’s possible.”
