Stevie Nicks is no stranger to the camera

Though Nicks has found success in her music career, she has made a foray into acting, something she admits terrifies her. She appeared on an episode of American Horror Story: Coven after swearing off the craft.

“I am not an actress,” Nicks told the LA Times. “Since the fourth grade when I was in an incredibly bad play about the Alamo and I played one of the last two surviving girls in the Alamo, I have vowed to stay away.”

Despite her fear, she appeared in the episode and later released the concert film 24 Karat Gold The Concert.

Stevie Nicks appeared in the ‘Bootylicious’ music video

Nicks was happy to let Destiny’s Child sample “Edge of Seventeen” for their 2001 song “Bootylicious.” She even made an appearance in the music video and met the young group.

“I got to sit there with them and hang out with them all day long,” she told the Associated Press. “Then I did my guitar playing part, which was totally fun and so when I left there, I felt like I knew them.”

She added that she noticed similarities between herself and the members of Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and Beyoncé.

“Without all the makeup and everything, they just looked like three really cute, little teenage girls,” Nicks explained. “Then of course, they’re just like me, they put on those — whatever it is that makes them — them. Whether it’s your boots or your jacket or whatever, then they became Destiny’s Child, and I saw it. It was really a marvel to see.”

She added that her appearance in the video provided her with an opportunity she’d never had before or since.

“They gave me a chance to pretend like I was playing guitar,” she said. “I don’t think anybody ever gave me that chance ever again.”

Nicks has many other young musicians she admires

Nicks has shared her admiration of Destiny’s Child and Beyoncé in particular.

“Beyoncé’s great. She’s got her alter ego [her stage persona, Sasha Fierce], but Beyoncé the girl, the woman, is very sweet and nice and polite,” Nicks told The Telegraph. “She’s a good role model. She’s not skanky. I’m glad we have her.”
