The trailer provides eye-opening scenes of what is to come for the second half of the season and gives fans chills about who will survive. Could Eddie Munson have been introduced as the sacrificial lamb for ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4?
The Duffer brothers have in the past introduced characters fans have fallen in love with, only to see their quick demise. First, it was Barb, then Bob and Alexei. Fans worry the new lovable metalhead Eddie is next. The character’s story is quickly established when he witnesses Chrissy’s tragic death at the hands of Vecna.
Seeing that the fourth season occurs during the ‘Satanic Panic,’ Eddie knew he would be blamed as the killer. But Dustin, Max, Steve, Robin, and Lucas know otherwise and introduce him to the mystery of Hawkins and the Upside Down. Eddie is quickly on board to destroy Vecna, inspired by the D&D character.
But fans soon worried Eddie would be Stranger Things Season 4’s sacrifice to save the others. “I don’t really want to say, but I would be concerned about the characters going into Volume 2, for sure,” said the Duffer brothers to Variety, “So everybody is in danger.” Fans can feel the foreboding omen for Eddie, and the new teaser trailer reveals possibly when.
‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Volume 2 teaser trailer shows Eddie and Dustin in battle
On Twitter, a fan posted the yet-to-be-released teaser trailer (now official) for the second half of the season. The trailer debuted during the NBA finals and has fans fearing the worst. With Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” playing in the background, the main characters are in for the fight of their lives.
But with the teaser images and new teaser trailer, there is a good idea of how Eddie’s possible death will occur in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2. Fans are aware Eddie has an epic guitar solo in the Upside Down. Fans theorized he is creating a distraction to save the other characters. But fans also noticed Dustin on top of the trailer alongside him.
The new teaser trailer reveals Dustin and Eddie geared up in the Upside Down with weapons. They stand back to back and look around for a possible attack. Eddie holds a spiked baseball bat and the top of a garbage can. The trailer also shows Eddie finding his guitar in his trailer in the Upside Down and says, “Let’s do it.” Likely before doing the solo.
While this may not say much, the trailer shows a brief clip of Dustin running and yelling in absolute agony or sadness. Fans are unable to see why or who Dustin is yelling for, but fans speculate it can be Eddie. Putting all the pieces together, here is the sequence of how Eddie might die.
Eddie devises a plan to get the other characters to the Creel house in the Upside Down
The last fans saw Eddie, he and the characters go through an opening in his trailer to return to Hawkins. Meanwhile, Nany learns the truth about Vecna and his life as Henry Creel. On June 14, Netflix released official images for the second half of the season. One photo shows Robin, Steve, Nancy, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Lucas’s sister around Eddie. But the characters are in a new location.
Eddie has a book on the table that could be a D&D book. Fans can theorize Eddie comes up with a plan to destroy Vecna after Nancy survives his memories and tells the others about the Creel house. Another photo shows Eddie driving a van with Steve and Robin.
It could be that Eddie hatches a plan to create a distraction and goes to get the necessary music equipment. The plan could be that Eddie and Dustin create a diversion against the demo bats while Nancy, Robin, and Steve go to the Creel house.
Dustin and Eddie first fight them off using makeshift weapons. At some point, Eddie decides they need to go bigger and use his guitar solo as the final blow. But, based on Dustin running in anguish, it could be that Eddie gets attacked and sacrifices himself to save Dustin.
