‘Stranger Things’ Season 4: Joseph Quinn Stole This 1 Eddie Munson Item From Set
When working on a hit TV show, it is not uncommon to hear actors take a few things from the set, whether allowed to or not. Newcomer Joseph Quinn joins Stranger Things Season 4 as the teen metalhead Eddie Munson, who has a distinguishable look during the 80s. The actor reveals the one thing he took from the set as a souvenir.
Eddie Munson is the typical rocker from the 80s in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4
There were many different social cliques during the 80s that are seen in the Netflix series. Besides Chrissy Cunningham and her boyfriend belonging to the preppy and sporty popular group, there are also the misfits. Eddie Munson leads a small group of supposed outcasts who are huge fans of Dungeons & Dragons. The group happens to include Dustin and Mike.
Unlike Dustin and Mike, Eddie and his friends wear distinct outfits most renegade teens would wear. With Ripped black jeans as a base, Eddie wears a Hellfire Club t-shirt and a classic leather jacket. To add more flair, he also wears a jean jacket with the sleeves cut off and a band logo on the back.
No outfit is complete without a few accessories. Eddie wears a lot of silver rings, a few bracelets, some white sneakers, and has some tattoos to bring it together. Not to mention, Quinn had to wear a mullet-style wig, which he calls a “beast of a wig!” Out of all the symbolic items that describe Eddie Munson, what items did Quinn nab from the set of Stranger Things Season 4?
Joseph Quinn did not take the leather jacket or Eddie’s accessories from ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4
Fans can only guess wrong answers of what the actor took from the set after playing Eddie. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Quinn explains the creative process behind making Eddie’s look for Stranger Things Season 4.
“It was very collaborative with [costume designer] Amy [Parris] and [department head hair] Sarah [Hindsgaul]. We had about three weeks of trying different looks. I wanted to have lots of rings,” said Quinn. “I was very grateful for the opportunity to have a bit of say.”
But Quinn quickly reveals the one item from Eddie’s wardrobe he kept. “I kept the Reeboks,” confessed Quinn. It was likely the most accessible item to sneak out and get away with. But some fans would want to know if Quinn managed to keep his Hellfire Club shirt.
“(Laughs.) Yeah, I’ve got a car full,” said Quinn. It is safe to say that Eddie Munson’s overall look and demeanor in Stranger Things Season 4 gives Steve Harrington a run for his money. While some fans are gaga over Eddie, Millie Bobby Brown still fawns over Steve. According to LadBible, Brown was asked who had the better hair, “Steve Harrington, are you kidding me? I blush every time Joe [comes in].”
Fans speculate a certain item the character wears means something more
Eddie Munson has successfully become a favorite for fans, and while many worry about his fate in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2, one fan noticed an interesting detail. The TV series has a long discussion about the possible sexuality of Will Byers.
But a fan theorizes Eddie’s black handkerchief in his back pocket has another meaning. While some may see it as a typical metalhead accessory, the theory suggests it is a hint at Eddie’s sexuality. The hanky is in reference to “The Hanky Code” used among LGBTQ men in the 70s and 80s.
Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 will air on July 1st.
