Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, has had an explosive past few years. Stranger Things Season 4 is right around the corner, and fans are getting more and more excited to see what’s in store for the characters in Hawkins. Schnapp took some time to talk to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. He gave us some insight about the upcoming season. Plus, we learned why he decided to branch out into something a little different – a vegan hazelnut cocoa spread.

Noah Schnapp and his ‘less scary’ storyline in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

Stranger Things showrunners Ross and Matt Duffer are notorious for keeping plot details close to their chests. That’s why fans are excited to receive the tiniest bit of information about future storylines. Of course, one of our first questions for Schnapp was, “What’s your overall impression of Stranger Things Season 4? We’ve heard it’s leaning a little harder into horror.”

The 17-year-old actor and entrepreneur was awesome enough to give us a hint at what’s to come. “It is definitely leaning into horror as it always does but it also has some playful aspects too. I get to be part of the less scary storyline this season which was really fun. I’ve never laughed more and had as much fun as I did this season.”

Of course, this might only give fans more questions about Will Byers’ journey in Stranger Things Season 4. In the “Welcome to California” teaser released on Stranger Things Day, audiences saw Will and Eleven settling into their new home in Lenora Hills. Nothing is ever simple when it comes to Eleven so now we’re even more intrigued about Schnapp’s comment. If you keep up with our Stranger Things coverage, you know that we’re on pins and needles waiting for season 4. Now, Schnapp has given us even more to ponder. Less scary storyline? Is that even possible when your best friend has supernatural powers and is being hunted by government agents? One thing is for sure, we can’t wait to find out.

Noah Schnapp dishes on the challenges of acting in ‘Stranger Things’

Audiences have seen Schnapp pull off some really intense scenes. These involved everything from seizures caused by supernatural forces to being possessed by the Mind Flayer. We asked, “You’ve had some pretty intense scenes in Stranger Things, like where you have the seizure when they start burning back the vines in season. How do you summon the emotions for some of your more intense scenes?”

Schnapp answered, “It is a challenge but I either talk to my fellow castmates like Winona [Ryder] (who is an amazing mentor) or do some research prior to the filming day. I love being put up to the challenge though because it’s fun to see how these crazy scenes come out on the big screen!”

Noah Schnapp on TBH and what goes best with his favorite snack

Other actors from Stranger Things have branched out into other products. Millie Bobby Brown has her own makeup line, but Schnapp is the first of the cast to try his hand at snacks. We were curious why this was the product he chose to create.

As it turns out, Schnapp wants to do his part in helping the environment. “I think it’s important for my generation to get involved in entrepreneurship. Gen Z can offer a unique perspective on traditional brands and problems. About two years ago, I started thinking of ways to make a difference through entrepreneurship and it always came back to two things: snacking and sustainability. As a lifelong fan of hazelnut cocoa spreads, I had a vision of taking that snack and making it better for you and better for the planet, too, by creating a vegan version with less sugar and no palm oil. I found an awesome team to help me combine those passions into TBH – a delicious spread that you can enjoy knowing it’s made with honest ingredients.”

The actor went on to tell us his favorite foods to dip into TBH. This includes fruit like strawberries, apples, and bananas.

Why TBH is better for the environment

Schnapp clearly has a passion for snacks. We were curious what prompted him to learn how snacks can help the environment. When he learned how much sugar was in his favorite hazelnut spread, he decided to do some investigating.

The Stranger Things Season 4 star said, “I was shocked to see the first ingredient in my favorite spread is sugar. That inspired me to look deeper, and learn more about the second ingredient, palm oil, and how harvesting it leads to deforestation and habitat destruction. I thought about how we could really change the world by changing what’s in our pantry, and that became the mission for TBH. “

We still have a few months to wait before we learn more Stranger Things Season 4. In the meantime, we’ll just be over here gorging on TBH and rewatching Stranger Things Seasons 1-3. That summer 2022 release date can’t come soon enough.
