Suga is somewhat of a fortune teller for this group. In 2016 he predicted the group would dominate the Billboard music charts, which they did. In 2017, he predicted the group would perform at the BBMAs, which they did. Now, he shared a goal for the BTS members that “anyone working in music has.”

The BTS members already broke a number of records with their music

These K-pop idols are super talented and they have an incredible fan base to match. Since their 2013 debut, BTS became one of the most popular boy bands in the world. With every music video came millions of views from the BTS ARMY.

Their August 2020 single, “Dynamite,” broke the YouTube record for most views in 24 hours, raking in over 100 million plays. The video for “DNA” has over a billion plays on the platform, with “Boy With Luv” almost reaching the billion-mark. What’s next for these performers? Suga shared one dream that the BTS members still have.

BTS’ success didn’t happen overnight. These performers have been working for over seven years as a group, earning recognition overseas in the process. They performed at the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, and virtually on the MTV Video Music Awards. Now, they have their sights set on the biggest night in music.

“I grew up watching American award shows, so obviously we all know and I know the importance of the Grammys,” he said during an interview with Variety. “It’s a dream anyone working in music has.”

“[The Grammys] motivates us to work harder,” RM added. “As Suga said, if you are in music, the Grammy Awards are something that you cannot help but to look toward and set as an eventual goal.”

BTS already went to and performed at the Grammy Awards

As a boy band and as an international act, BTS already broke a few records at the Grammy Awards. They became the first K-pop group to present an award in 2019. They also became the first K-pop group to perform, singing and rapping alongside Lil Nas X for his performance of “Old Town Road.”

With the success of “Dynamite,” and the song climbing and peaking at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, some fans think this could be BTS’ chance to snag an award or nomination. This may also be one of the last chances they get before older members, like Jin, have to enlist in the Korean military.

The “Dynamite” music video is now available on YouTube. Music by BTS, including their recently released album, Map of the Soul: 7, is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major platforms.
