‘Suits LA’: When Does the ‘Suits’ Spin-off Premiere?
Mark the calendar, Suits fans, because Suits LA is coming soon. The spin-off of the popular USA legal drama has a February 2025 premiere date. Ahead, find out when Suits LA premieres, what it’s about, and whether or not OG cast members will return.
‘Suits LA’ premieres in February 2025
The spin-off of the legal drama that originally ran from 2011 to 2019 premieres with a new cast in a new city on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. The premiere episode of Suits LA will air right after The Americas documentary series, per the network.
It comes after Suits saw a resurgence in popularity when the series began streaming on Netflix in the summer of 2023 and quickly broke streaming records. Since then, some OG cast members have gotten together for an awards show reunion, a Super Bowl ad, and even a Suits podcast.
What is ‘Suits LA’ about?
As for what the Suits spin-off is about, Suits LA follows Stephen Amell’s character, Ted Black, a former prosecutor from New York, who has, according to the show’s official description, reinvented himself in Los Angeles, Calif., as a high-powered attorney “representing the most powerful clients” in the city.
Black’s firm is “at crisis point, and in order to survive, he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.” He’s surrounded by a “stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.” Meanwhile, everything that led up to Ted’s decision to “leave behind everything and everyone he loved” is “slowly” revealed.
Amell’s main Suits LA co-stars include Bryan Greenburg, Josh McDermitt, and Lex Scott Davis. Victoria Justice, Alice Lee, and Rachelle Goulding are just a few of the actors in recurring/gues roles.
Will original ‘Suits’ cast members appear on the spin-off?
During a fan Q&A on Jan. 26, 2025, Suits creator Aaron Korsh, who is a writer and producer on Suits LA, opened up about viewers seeing familiar faces on the spin-off. Namely, Gabriel Macht reprising his role as Harvey Spector.
“The network very much wanted one original member,” Korsh wrote on X. “If you watch, you’ll see that from a story standpoint Harvey made the most sense.”
As for seeing the likes of Patrick J. Adams’ Mike, Sarah Rafferty’s Donna, Meghan Markle’s Rachel, Rick Hoffman’s Louis, or Gina Torres’ Jessica Pearson? Korsh said that “remains to be seen.” Despite being “open” to the idea his main focus, he told fans, is to “launch these characters on this show.”
