‘Summer House’: Hannah Berner Is Who Lindsay Hubbard Would ‘Least’ Want to Return – Says She Brought Unnecessary Drama
Lindsay Hubbard says there are a few surprising cast members she could see returning to Summer House – but Hannah Berner definitely isn’t one of them.
Of the nine past Summer House cast members, Berner is who Hubbard would least like to see come back. But someone she wouldn’t mind making a return is ex-boyfriend Everett Weston, who she says is still close with Carl Radke and Kyle Cooke.
Lindsay Hubbard says Hannah Berner brought a lot of unnecessary drama to ‘Summer House’
Berner decided not to return to the series after a rough season and an even rougher reunion. But Hubbard said a lot of the drama came from Berner herself. “Who would I least want to come back?” she wondered on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. “I mean, probably the person who didn’t come back this summer. I just think there was a lot of unnecessary make-believe drama and subsequent turmoil that we don’t really need. This was a much lighter season and I think that’s a big part of it.”
Hubbard and Berner’s drama goes back to New Year’s Eve 2019 when Berner said Hubbard purposely left her off the party guest list but invited Luke Gulbranson, who Berner said was “basically was my boyfriend,” according to Bravo’s The Daily Dish. Later in the Summer House season, Berner started a rumor that Gulbranson and Hubbard hooked up – a rumor they both denied.
Why was Lindsay Hubbard angry about the Luke Gulbranson hook up rumor?
Berner was seen telling Paige DeSorbo that a psychic told her that Hubbard and Gulbranson were going to hook up – but they likely already did. Hubbard was especially upset because at the time she was dating Stephen Traversie, so the rumor implied she cheated on him.
“Here’s why it sucks,” she said last year on the Hot Takes & Deep Dives podcast. “I actually do believe in life coaches and psychics to a degree, or certain palm readers, or tarot card readers. And it kind of tainted my idea of that whole industry. Number one, why is your psychic talking about me? Isn’t a psychic supposed to tell you about your life? Number two, I think that maybe you should replace your psychic with a life coach.”
“Number three, so now you’re accusing me of cheating [on her boyfriend] and I’m a fiercely loyal person,” she continued. “That’s what hurt the most. To attack my character out of thin air, when not even Hannah believed [the rumor] as this was happening. So you’re attacking my character just for the fun of it. I do not cheat on boyfriends, and that’s hurtful.”
But who could Lindsay Hubbard see returning to ‘Summer House’?
While Hubbard wouldn’t want to see Berner return, she said on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast she wouldn’t mind seeing Weston return. “I would probably say, Everett, just because you know, me, Carl and Kyle are still very, very close with him,” she said.
“You know, the boys have always been in that same guy group for a while,” she said. “Or maybe Amit [Neuman]. Amit just because he didn’t really do much. He was just like there and harmless. And then, yeah, I mean, or Jaclyn [Shuman]. I’m very close to Jaclyn from season one. She’s still one of my very close friends and we hang out as much as we can.”
