If you’re ready for Elsa to stop with the snow already, we know how you feel. Thankfully, Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, has plenty of movies and television shows to remind you of bright, sunny days. From Moana to Teen Beach Movie to the live-action Aladdin, here are a few of our favorite summer movies on this subscription platform.

‘Cars’ and other Pixar movies are available on Disney+

Thankfully, this movie is completely snow-free. Cars tells the story of the famous racer Lightning McQueen as he learns what it means to be a good race car and an even better friend. This movie is available on Disney+, along with its sequels and spin-off shorts.

Other feel-good Pixar movies on this platform include Up, which features the beautiful and scenic Paradise Falls: a land lost in time. Brave takes place in a fictional medieval Scotland, complete with dense forests and a waterfall.

Disney+ recently added the live-action ‘Aladdin’ to its library

What’s the opposite of cold weather? The desert, where Aladdin takes place. Agrabah is a made-up city that does take aspects of Middle Eastern culture, especially in the live-action version of this story.

To be fair, Jafar does send Aladdin to the ends of the earth which is, turns out, not a great vacation destination. However, both the original animated film and Disney’s 2019 adaptation of Aladdin are available for binge-watching on this streaming platform. The live-action reboot joined the Disney+ library on Jan. 8, 2020, a few months after its cinematic run.

Some ‘Star Wars’ movies, including ‘The Phantom Menace’ are available on this streaming platform

There are a few snowy planets in the Star Wars universe. However, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, and Rey grew up on desert planets. It’s there that these protagonists are sought out by Jedis and begin their journeys with the force.

Not all of the Star Wars movies are available on this streaming platform, as The Rise of Skywalker is still playing in theaters. However, movies that take place under the beating sun, including The Phantom Menace and A New Hope, are listed in the Disney+ movie library.

The ocean chose ‘Moana’ and Disney chose her movie to be on this streaming platform

She grew up on the beautiful island of Motunui. Ever since she was a young girl, Moana dreamed of adventure on the seas. Once the ocean chooses Moana, it’s up to her and the self-absorbed demi-god, Maui, to save her home and the surrounding islands. Plus, she sings a few iconic songs along the way.

Disney’s 2016 blockbuster, Moana joined this streaming platform at its launch date, along with Disney Princess movies like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Beauty and the Beast. The voice of Moana, Auli’i Cravalho, also appears in The Little Mermaid Live!, a television broadcast from ABC also available with this subscription service.

Additionally, Disney Channel original movies like High School Musical 2 and Teen Beach Movie are also on this streaming platform. To learn more about Disney+ and to subscribe, visit their website.
