‘Superman and Lois’: What is Elizabeth ‘Bitsie’ Tulloch’s Net Worth?
Apparently, actor Elizabeth ‘Bitsie’ Tulloch didn’t get enough of portraying Lois Lane from her two appearances in Supergirl. The former Grimm star is back to playing Superman’s girl, make it wife this time, in Superman and Lois. The show takes place in Smallville, Kansas rather than New York City. Now Lois and Clark Kent, aka Superman who is portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin, are married with two teenage kids. It is giving Tulloch a chance to better understand her iconic role, and at the same time adding to her net worth.
Tulloch’s early career
Born January 19, 1981, in San Diego, California, Elizabeth “Bitsie” Tulloch’s family moved around a lot while she was growing up. She lived in Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay, before her family settled in New York where she attended middle school and high school. She attended Harvard University where she graduated magna cum laude before delving into her acting career, according to IMDb. Her nickname, Bitsie, stems from her late grandfather, a WWII bomber pilot. Tulloch’s first credited TV role came in The West Wing, where, in 2004, she played a White House intern.
In 2008, she appeared opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, and Patrick Wilson in the film Lakeview Terrace. More TV appearances followed on such shows as Cold Case, Moonlight, and Outlaw. Tulloch received high praise from the Los Angeles Times and other media outlets for her 2008 role as Dylan Krieger in Quarter-Life. In 2010, she nabbed the part of Alexandra Hubbard on the KoldCast TV show Tyranny alongside John Beck Hofmann, who also created and directed the show.
Bitsie as Juliette Silverton and Lois Lane
Tulloch’s big break came in 2011 when she was cast as Juliette Silverton in Grimm. The NBC fantasy drama was created by Stephen Carpenter, David Greenwalt, and Jim Kouf, inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Her early role as Juliette, a veterinarian who was involved with Detective Nick Burkhardt, played by David Giuntoli. She is shot by a crossbow in Season 4, but returns as Eve in Season 5, with all of Juliette’s powers and memory, but lacking her emotional attachments.
Following Grimm’s six-season run, Tulloch diverted from fantasy to the comic-adapted role of Lois Lane in two episodes of Supergirl. In 2021, she has been able to rekindle the iconic role previously portrayed by numerous actors since the first Superman aired on television in 1952. The CW series came to life in February of this year with a total of 15 episodes slated for its first season. Through its instant popularity, the show was quickly renewed for a second season, according to HITC. Superman and Lois’s IMDb ratings are 8/10, and it has reached 86% on the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes.
Tulloch’s life off-screen
At the age of 40, Tulloch has done quite well for herself. Not only has she found her way into a successful acting career she has also married her former Grimm co-star, Giuntoli. The two met while filming Caroline and Jackie in 2011. It was Giuntoli who encouraged Tulloch to audition for Elizabeth in Grimm. However, the two didn’t start dating until a couple of years into their roles on the NBC fantasy show. Portraying Nick on Grimm is considered Giuntoli’s breakout role. Before that though, he also had been considered for a Superman role having auditioned for Man of Steel.
The couple has two homes, one in Portland, Oregon, and another in the Hollywood Hills. They welcomed their first child, a daughter, in February 2019. While we don’t know just how much either made on Grimm, Tulloch’s net worth was estimated at approximately $2 million in 2019, according to Nicki Swift. With her new role in Superman and Lois, we can only assume that her financial situation remains on an upward path.
