‘Supernatural’: How Tall Is Jared Padalecki?
Sam Winchester was obviously the taller Winchester brother. You could see that when Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles stood side by side on Supernatural. According to sites like Celeb Heights and Celebrity Inside, Padalecki stands tall at 6’4”. That makes him three inches taller than Ackles. But, there’s a lot more to Padalecki’s career than Supernatural.
Before the long-running CW show, Padalecki spent five years on Gilmore Girls as Dean Forrester. Dean was a love interest to Rory (Alexis Bledel). Bledel was 5’7” so there was quite a height differential between them. Rory’s mom Lorelei, Lauren Graham, had an additional inch but still looked up to Padalecki.
During his run on Gilmore Girls, Padalecki also did an episode of ER and a pilot for Young MacGyver which did not go to series. He appeared in the movie Cheaper By the Dozen, Flight of the Phoenix and with the Olsen Twins in New York Minute. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are only 5’2” so Padalecki is over a foot taller.

When Supernatural began in 2005, Padalecki would’ve had no idea it would run for 15 seasons. Original creator Eric Kripke even contemplated a series finale after season five, and he left the show to other showrunners after that season.
Padalecki, Ackles and the producers just kept doing another season and another season. Supernatural even survived the combination of The WB and UPN. The combined CW network kept the show running.
The same year Supernatural began, Padalecki starred in the horror movie House of Wax. The movie co-starred Paris Hilton and Elisha Cuthbert. Hilton is 5’8” and Cuthbert is 5’3”. Padalecki wouldn’t make many movies during Supernatural, but his other big one was another horror remake. Friday the 13th’s new Jason, Derek Mears, stood one inch taller than Padalecki.

Padalecki went right back to work as soon as Supernatural ended. It took a big longer than expected. Supernatural was supposed to wrap in the spring of 2020, but the coronavirus (pandemic) shut down production with two episodes to go. They finally finished in Sept. 2020.
In Oct. 2020, Padalecki began work on Walker. Based on Walker, Texas Ranger, Padalecki plays a Cordell Walker who’s a bit different than Chuck Norris’s original character. Norris is 5’10” but six inches is not the only difference.
Padalecki’s Walker is still hung up on the muder of his wife. He’s now partnered with Micki Ramirez (Lindsey Morgan). Morgan is 5’5”. Coby Bell plays their boss and he’s 6’3” so poor Morgan has to crane her neck in a lot of scenes.
