Only Murders in the Building is absolutely brimming with stars in season 4, but only one had the biggest “entourage” on set. It wasn’t Selena Gomez (Mabel), Steve Martin (Charles), Martin Short (Oliver), or the many other familiar faces on screen such as Meryl Streep (Loretta). How about Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, and Zach Galifianakis? No, not them, either. The one star with the massive “entourage” had four legs.

The pig had a ‘humongous entourage’ on the set of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 4

According to Michael Cyril Creighton, who plays cat-lover turned dog owner Howard Morris in the award-winning series, the pig came to set with many people in its corner. “She had a humongous entourage, bigger than any star that’s been on the show,” he told TheWrap of the one-year-old who, per NBC, hails from Connecticut.

While food has brought laughter and heartache to Only Murders in the Building—Oliver’s dips, Schmackary’s Cookies, and Charles’ omelets, just to name a few—it’s also included, unbeknownst to viewers, lots of peanuts in the making of season 4.

“She loved peanuts,” Creighton said of the pig. “My pockets were always filled with them. So she would always jump up on my leg and you were supposed to put a peanut at the end of a hallway, and then she would stop there.”

However, things didn’t always go to plan. “She tended to just eat the peanut and then look for more peanuts. They’re like, ‘You’re gonna stop here, and the pig’s gonna stand next to you.’ The pig is never going to stand next to you. It’s a pig. But she was very sweet.”

The pig screamed ‘like the devil itself’ while filming ‘OMITB’ Season 4

When the pig wasn’t happy on the Only Murders in the Building set, she made her feelings very clear. How exactly? By belting out screams that impressed showrunner, John Hoffman.

“It was like the devil itself was down the hall, and it was screaming in this way that felt multi-layered,” he said. “It was like, this needs to be in the next ‘Exorcist’ movie.”

“And it was just the pig being a little upset,” Hoffman continued. “But it was a noise that I was not prepared for. I didn’t realize that can happen. But that was the one kerfuffle with working with a pig. You want it happy.”

During filming the pig urinated on the Only Murders in the Building star who joked that he “took it as an affront.” When he told his co-stars about what happened, they couldn’t help but inject some humor into the situation too.

“I did text Martin Short about that and said, ‘The pig just urinated on me,’” Creighton recalled. “And he said, ‘I hate it when animals judge performances,’ which was a very Marty response.”

Despite everything that happened with the pig, whose name is Sprinkle, on set—the peanuts, the sizable entourage, the urination, and screaming—Creighton’s ready to have more animals as scene partners.

“All in all, I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” he said. “How many times do you get to act with a pig in your life? So I hope she’s back next season, and I welcome any and all animals.”

New episodes of Only Murders in the Building Season 4 drop every Tuesday on Hulu.
