Surprise! Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden Welcome Baby Daughter Raddix in Heartfelt Instagram Post
Cameron Diaz has been keeping a low profile for years, but she just came out with some major news and fans couldn’t be happier for her.
It was rumored that the 47-year-old actress was expecting her first child with musician husband Benji Madden. But since these two keep their relationship super private, no one knew for sure. Now the Charlie’s Angels star confirmed the truth to those rumors by posting a birth announcement to her Instagram.
The couple is not revealing any photos of their new baby girl — at least not yet. But they did say they’re over the moon excited to become first-time parents.
Diaz and Madden welcomed a daughter into their family
The news broke on Jan. 3, 2020.
“Happy New Year from the Maddens! We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden,” Diaz wrote in the post. “She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”
Diaz also warned fans that she wouldn’t be sharing any photos of her new addition due to privacy concerns. “While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy,” she continued. “So we won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute!! Some would even say RAD.”
Diaz and Madden have a very sweet relationship
Though they don’t take their love public very often, Diaz and Madden keep proving in interviews that their relationship is rock-solid.
The Good Charlotte frontman met the legendary actress while both were attending an NSYNC charity basketball game. Though they were friendly, things didn’t turn romantic until Diaz invited Benji plus his twin brother Joel and wife Nicole Richie to a dinner party at her house.
“Then I saw him again. [I thought], Wait for a second, still hot!” Diaz recalls of their second meeting.
They both gush about their love for each other
Diaz and Madden avoid the spotlight as much as possible, but both have gone on record saying sweet things about each other in interviews.
“Getting married to him was the best thing that ever happened to me. My husband’s the best,” Diaz told InStyle. “He’s the greatest human being, and he’s my great partner,” she said.
“Marriage is certainly hard, and it’s a lot of work. You need somebody who’s willing to do the work with you, because there’s no 60-40 in marriage. It’s 50-50, period. All the time.”
Meanwhile, Madden uses Instagram to share sweet sentiments about his wife of five years.
Now baby makes three for Diaz and Madden
Diaz stepped away from the acting world several years ago to focus on her home life and just enjoying life without all the attention. “I’ve given more than half of my life to the public. I feel like it’s OK for me to take time for myself now,” she told InStyle.
