It looks like Survivor Season 41 is officially on. Host Jeff Probst took to social media to big the major announcement in March 2021.

“Hey Survivor fans, I have some exciting news to share,” Probst announced on Instagram. “Survivor‘s going back into production. Fiji has invited us back to their beautiful country to shoot season 41.”

Probst then reminded fans that coronavirus protocol is still in place for producers and contestants. And the absence of Survivor this year reminded him of just how much he adores the show and missed filming. He added, “you got to live your life like it’s one big, great adventure, and Survivor fulfills that.”

As far as this season’s timeline goes, rumors suggest the cast and crew started quarantining in Fiji 14 days prior to filming. “They have to stagger the way they actually come because most of the crew are sitting in different parts of the world but all done under the guidance of the Ministry of Health,” Fiji’s Ministry of Trade and Commerce explained. “We follow the necessary protocol to protect our own citizens.”

Fans are looking for any and all spoilers having to do with Survivor Season 41. While CBS has yet to announce the official cast, rumors from spoiler site Inside Survivor give fans a clue. And it looks like fingers are flying in regards to one rumored contestant, Sydney Segal.

Sydney is reportedly 26 and from Beverly Hills, California. She’s a law student/legal intern. And fans think she may have been medically evacuated from the show due to a recent photo posted to Instagram Stories.

According to Reddit, the photo shows Sydney sitting on the couch with a leg brace. The photo caption reads, “Bae is recovering,” and it tags Sydney.

“[41][Speculation] Possible medical evacuation of Sydney?” the original Reddit poster questioned.

“That’s likely the case,” another fan commented. “That’s a bummer because I really liked her.”

“I really hope not but Probst did say in that weird promo that this season was going to be ‘super dangerous,'” another fan wrote.

Who else is part of this season’s cast?

We’re not sure if Sydney really did get medically evacuated from Survivor Season 41, but we’ll certainly find out. As for the rest of the cast, it looks like a fantastic crew. Inside Survivor gave the names, ages, and occupations of a few rumored cast members.

Danny McCray, a 33-year-old retired NFL player, joined the cast, according to the site. As did Deshawn Radder, a medical scribe; David Voce, a doctor; Erika Casupanan, a professional in communications; Ricard Foyé, a flight attendant; Sara Wilson, an engineering student; Shantel Smith, a pastor and comedian; and Xander Hastings, a student of computer science.

Will this cast, among others, duke it out in Fiji for $1 million? We’ll have to wait and see.

CBS declined to comment about the casting rumors.
