‘Suspicion’ Season 1 Episode 5 recap: Natalie, Aadesh, Eddie, and Tara are in hiding with Sean
According to Apple TV, “What Does a Kidnapper Look Like?” began streaming on Feb. 25, 2022. In the episode, after getting kidnapped — and subsequently rescued by Sean Tilson (Elyes Gabel) — Natalie Thompson (Georgina Campbell), Aadesh Chopra (Kunal Nayyar), Eddie Walker (Tom Rhys Harries), and Tara McAllister (Elizabeth Henstridge) seek refuge in a cottage.
They spend the night in the home of the man Sean killed in the Feb. 18 episode. Everyone is shaken up but none more so than Natalie. Distraught over the death of her younger sister, Monique Thompson (Lydia West), she attempts suicide.
A neighbor gets suspicious of the activity at the house. They knock on the door and thanks to some quick thinking on the part of Tara they go away. Sean is so impressed he even remarks on Tara’s ability to lie.
At another point in the evening, Aadesh finds old cell phones. He charges them up and tries to make a call before Sean catches him. Later, he questions everyone. He asks the others to share everything they know.
Aadesh reveals he hacked Katherine’s computers in an effort to secure a job with the company. In doing so he saw emails involving Katherine, her associate Martin Copeland (Robert Glenister), and her missing son, Leo Newman (Gerran Howell).
Tara, Eddie, and Natalie are also questioned by Sean. Fed up with Sean pressing them for details, they do the same to him.
Sean decides to go to New York City
As daylight draws nearer Sean comes up with a plan. He decides to travel to New York City to return to the scene of the crime. Aadesh doesn’t approve of the idea. He thinks going back to where Leo was kidnapped will make them look guilty.
But Sean’s set in his decision. Natalie decides to join him. There’s no time to argue about their next move because the neighbor realizes Tara’s lied. She, in fact, does not know the homeowner and her husband isn’t an author.
Eddie sends a mysterious text message
Knowing it’s just a matter of time before local authorities arrive Sean ushers everyone to the car. As they set off for a journey across the Atlantic Ocean viewers are left with the idea that Eddie, the college student studying history, is actually involved.
In the back of the car, he sends a text message on a phone he keeps hidden in his sock. “On move with all 4,” he types.
Suspicion is streaming on AppleTV+. A new episode is released every Friday.
