How did ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 2 end?

Following the car crash at the end of the first season of Sweet Magnolias, season 2 of the drama series got off to an explosive start. Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen realized that Mary Vaughn (Allison Gabriel) and her husband, the mayor, had basically been getting rich off the property in the town by buying it all up and leasing it at an astronomical rate.

This came to a head when the friends decided to try and get the mayor removed. In retaliation, Mary Vaughn went after Cal (Justin Bruening), Maddie’s boyfriend who is a former baseball star turned coach. As a result, some shocking things about Cal’s past came to light.

The second season also chronicled Helen’s desire to become a mother including a devastating miscarriage. However, Helen was determined to pursue IVF while embarking on a relationship with Erik (Dion Johnstone).

However, in the final scene, her long-time love Ryan (Michael Shenefelt) appears in town and proposes.

Finally, Dana Sue has rekindled things with her husband Ronnie (Brandon Quinn). But she’s also dealing with a mystery woman who has already accosted her daughter Annie (Anneliese Judge). She corners the teen saying, “You look like something she’d spit out,” the woman said, “She still busy wrecking people’s lives?”

Season 3 will reveal who slashed Dana Sue’s tires

It looks like the mystery woman will finally be revealed in season 2. Jackson (Carson Rowland) showed Maddie, Dana Sue and Helen videos of the woman, who we now know is Kathy (Wynn Everett) ruining the tires on Dana Sue’s catering truck.

“Dear Lord, she’s back,” Maddie says. “What should we do?” Now, series creator and showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson says there is more to come in terms of Kathy’s story.

“I will just say she has a past in common with our ladies and some other folks in town,” she told TV Line. “She’s been away for a while, but she has come back with an agenda. She has come home to settle some scores.”

Will Helen marry Ryan in ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 3?

In addition to watching Kathy wreak havoc on everyone’s lives, fans are desperate to see how the love triangle between Helen, Erik, and Ryan is going to pan out. Thus far, Ryan doesn’t know that Helen was pregnant and lost their child. We also don’t know if Helen will trust the proposal since their relationship has been on-again and off-again for years.

Headley says she has no clue who Helen will choose. “I don’t know, and that’s the scary part, I really don’t know,” she told TV Line. “Sometimes I think it’s Ryan because she has this thick sludge of a relationship. They’ve loved each other from the time they were young. Every time they’ve left each other, they’ve come right back. They’re desperately in love with each other, and they have all that history.”
