By now, people seem to understand and accept that people of all different shapes and sizes can struggle with body image issues. However, when you’re a celebrity and subjected to all sorts of criticism because of your appearance, it can be even more of a struggle to always embrace the skin you’re in. Sydney Sweeney certainly understands how much of a challenge it can be to always feel positive about your body. In fact, the Euphoria star was recently body-shamed by some critics on Twitter.

Though Sweeney is known as “body goals” for millions of people, the Washington native has never been shy about the fact that she’s had plenty of moments where she’s felt self-conscious about her looks. As the Washington native grew up in the industry, she often compared her body to others and often felt insecure because she wasn’t as “skinny” as others.

These days, however, the Sharp Objects alum seems to have a better relationship with her body. She has shared that doing the nude scenes required of her Euphoria, character, Cassie Howard, left her feeling more confident about her body than ever before. Furthermore, Sweeney’s partnership with Savage X Fenty has also helped her feel more empowered.

Still, it can be hard for Sweeney to always maintain ideal body positivity, especially considering she’s a public figure. So what does the talented actor do when she’s struggling to love her body? In an interview with Yahoo Life! the Nocturne star shared that she likes to remind herself of the value of her body beyond how it looks. Furthermore, the producer likes to remember that her body is the only one she has.

“It is your body and there are some people looking at it, but at the same time, something that I’ve really started telling myself is this is the one body I’ll have for the rest of my life,” Sweeney shared. “And it does so much for me and I need to appreciate it and I need to love it because I’m not going to get another one. So I’m just kind of loving myself more and thanking my body for everything it does. And sure, more people than myself get to look at it in my profession. And I hope that the love that I have for my body and the thanks that I give to myself inspires other people to be like, I need to approach myself that way too, because I think loving yourself is number one before you can actually love anyone else.”
