Sydney Sweeney Takes First Dates on a ‘Crazy Hike’ as a Test
Sydney Sweeney is seemingly off the market. A few weeks ago the 24-year-old actor was spotted wearing a huge diamond on her left ring finger. It wasn’t long before PEOPLE confirmed that Sweeney was engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Jonathan Davino. However, prior to entering into a relationship, Sweeney was going on adventurous dates. In fact, she had a specific place she took first dates to see if they could keep up with her daring spirit.
Sydney Sweeney has a deep love of the great outdoors and staying very active
Though Sweeney is based in Los Angeles now, she originally hails from Spokane, Washington. More specifically, The Players Table producer grew up along the Washington-Idaho border and thus developed an affinity for the great outdoors. Sweeney was extremely active when she was growing up, doing everything from wakeboarding to hiking, to riding dirt bikes.
These days, Sweeney’s acting contracts sometimes prevent her from doing more extreme sports. However, she still makes time to get outdoors. During the 2020 coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown, she and her dog, Tank, would take 5-6 mile walks on a daily basis. Furthermore, Sweeney has found some truly special hikes in the LA area that make her feel more at home.
The ‘Euphoria’ star took her first dates on a crazy hike as a test
While Sweeney won’t give away her favorite hiking spot in LA, she did share details about it in an interview with SBJCT journal. The Everything Sucks! alum frequents the spot often and even brought her dates there to see if they could hang. “It’s a crazy hike with cliff jumping and rock climbing (it’s where I take my first dates to see if they pass my test haha),” Sweeney revealed. “Malibu has some great spots to offer.”
Sweeney’s love of the outdoors began in her hometown
Continuing on, Sweeney was quick to share how important it is for her to be in nature. She mentioned that she feels most at peace when she’s in the great outdoors. She also shared that a lot of her adventurous spirit comes from being challenged. She enjoys surprising people with her activity levels and doing things that people assume that she can’t.
“I feel at home when I’m out on a hike or in the water,” Sweeney explained.”If there’s a tree I will most likely try to climb it, or if someone says ‘You can’t climb that rock’ I will probably be at the top of that rock within minutes. There’s such a thrill with going on adventures and pushing yourself physically and mentally. I was lucky to have grown up in the Pacific North West where we have access to such beautiful land to hike and explore, so I try to do that wherever I am.”
