Where can I watch ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’?

Rodrigo’s show was born out of love for the original Disney Channel Original Movie, High School Musical. The latter was released in 2006. It made Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, and Monique Coleman household names. The made-for-television movie was an unprecedented success and led to two sequel films, a concert tour, merchandise, and years later, a spinoff television show.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is available to stream on Disney+. The first season came out in fall 2019, launching people like Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett into internet stardom. The show takes place at East High in Salt Lake City, Utah, where present-day high schoolers auditioned to be in their show’s musical — High School Musical.

Rodrigo, one of the biggest names to come out of the HSMTMTS franchise, is 5 feet, 4 inches, per Capital FM. She became an even bigger star in 2021 when her song “drivers license” became a viral hit online. Her song got the attention of big musical names like Taylor Swift and Niall Horan and led to her performing at the 2021 Brit Awards.

Following “drivers license,” Rodrigo showed her skill as a songwriter by expanding into other unique sounds. She released “deja vu,” her second single, on April 1, and her third, “good 4 u,” on May 14. One week later, Rodrigo put out her first studio album called Sour, which includes many breakup songs.

Before Rodrigo’s album Sour came out, she had a hand in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series songs. She wrote “All I Want,” an emotional ballad for her character Nini Salazar-Robert in season 1. The music video has more than 72 million views on YouTube and also became a surprise hit on the Billboard chart.

The first season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has an album soundtrack with a whopping 30 songs, as well as 11 digital release additional tracks. Rodrigo sang on the most tracks, with other show actors Bassett, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, and Julia Lester making multiple appearances on songs as well.

Season 2 introduced a few new actors to regularly appear on the show. Derek Hough, Andrew Barth Feldman, and Olivia Rose Keegan are new additions to High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 2.
