“I feel more free than I’ve ever felt in my life and as a matter of fact, I enjoyed my time on The Real as well and I did feel free there,” Braxton told The Morning Hustle about her podcast Under Construction. “Where I felt most stifled was in the reality world. I felt like it was a negative reflection of everything that I am and who I’ve always wanted to be.”

As a result, she promised to never showcase her life again on reality television. In addition to Braxton Family Values, Braxton also had two We TV spinoff series: Tamar & Vince, and Get Your Life.

The “Love & War” singer says her family is working on a new reality series

The Jasmine Brand reports that Braxton told the audience at her recent performance that her popular family will be making a return to television soon. The news is shocking considering Braxton’s previous vow to not film her life again.

“How many of y’all miss ‘Braxton Family Values’? What if I told you ‘Braxton Family Values’ is coming back? Not on a foolish network I can tell you that,” she told the audience. “The true depiction of a Black American family is not a bunch of foolishness. The other part of the truth is, I ain’t finna let the devil use me like that – for people’s entertainment purposes. It’s a no for me dawg. I’m not saying families don’t go through stuff ’cause we do. I’m not saying that we’re not ratchet ’cause we are. But only we can tell our story.”

TMZ later caught up with Braxton to get clarity regarding her statement. “Everybody thinks I declared war against a network, and sort of, but not really, but the truth is, I just wanted my family to be depicted the right way,” she says. “As a show creator, I feel like the responsibility of the show is mainly on me. As show creator, I want to have full control.”

Braxton further explained that her words about reality televison was taken out of context. “[I’m willing to give reality television a second chance] but not getting into my life,” she says. “I’m defintely doing TV again but I’m definitely not doing that [type of reality] again…maybe docueries style.”

Tamar Braxton admits to being upset with her family over them continuing the show without her

The Braxton sisters have come a long way since the issues documented on their former show. In May 2021, Tamar told Entertainment Tonight that she was not happy with her sisters continuing to film the show in her absence and objection to the show.

“It really wasn’t about the family per se, it was more business-related,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I just felt it was a bit disrespectful about a show I created and Vince and I funded and it was disrespectful to act like we didn’t exist – it was disrespectful to act like, ‘Oh, this is just a show that we got and we created and now it’s ours.’”

Luckily, it appears the sisters have put the drama behind them. As of late, they’ve all been sharing love to one another on social media.
