Tamar Braxton Turned Down ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’: She Didn’t Want to ‘Argue With a Bunch of B*****s About Nothing’
Tamar Braxton won’t be joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta at any point. The TV personality and member of the famed Braxton family recently appeared on a podcast and revealed that she was once offered a spot on the iconic Bravo series. She turned down the offer, and she isn’t playing coy about why.
Tamar Braxton passed on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’
Tamar Braxton recently appeared on Reality with the King, a podcast dedicated to reality TV’s most iconic moments, and the topic of The Real Housewives of Atlanta came up. Braxton said she was offered a role on the series but quickly turned it down. She told podcast host Carlos King that she was not interested in getting on TV and arguing with a “bunch of b*****s about nothing.” She clarified that no amount of money would have enticed her to take the role.
It is unclear how much the housewives make per season. Salaries appear to differ depending on the talent and how long they’ve spent on the series, but the money doesn’t matter to Braxton. She told King that not all money is good money, and she would not feel comfortable cashing a paycheck from the series, as she doesn’t want to put anything out there that she doesn’t wholeheartedly believe in.
Braxton is also making choices that likely would not align with the series at this point in her life. She chooses to keep her love life private and no longer speaks about her fiance, JR Robinson. Considering rumors that several housewives have been met with ultimatums about their desire to keep their private lives private, we can understand why Braxton might not mesh with Bravo.
Tamar Braxton insists she is a fan of the show, regardless
Despite her thoughts on personally appearing on the show, Braxton insists she is still a fan of the franchise and enjoys watching it. She did not mention whether she’ll be tuning in for the upcoming season.
Production on season 16 began this month, but Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date. While season 15 began in May 2023, fans probably won’t see another installment until 2025. When season 16 does premiere, fans will be treated to a few new faces. They will also see the return of a couple of former cast members. Shamea Morton Mwangi and Cynthia Bailey are set to return. According to Bravo’s official announcement, Brittany Eady, Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley will also join the cast. They will be joining Porsha Williams, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora.
Fans would love to see some of the original cast return to the series, but that seems unlikely. Shereé Whitfield returned in season 15 but did not appear in the main cast list for season 16. NeNe Leakes, who last appeared in season 12, is not interested in returning.
