Flip or Flop fans are still mourning the end of one of HGTV’s most popular shows. Ex-spouses and longtime hosts Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack already went their separate ways personally and now they’re splitting professionally. After Haack revealed she wants to end her flipping days, the series aired its final episode on March 17. El Moussa recently took to Instagram to share his thoughts on ten seasons of Flip or Flop working alongside his former spouse.

Christina Haack wants to skip the flip

Flip or Flop premiered in 2013 with the spotlight on Haack and El Moussa as young marrieds with an eye for potential on houses most would pass by. Though the two divorced in 2018, the show continued with great success despite some friction along the way.

Haack, now engaged to Joshua Hall, recently ended her show Christina on the Coast after four seasons and has apparently had her fill of Flip or Flop. She shared her feelings with El Moussa in the March 17 finale, explaining that she wants to pursue other projects.

“I feel like it’s not really fair to you or myself to continue house flipping with you,” Hack told El Moussa on the show, according to Entertainment Tonight. “I think it’s what’s best – I can’t be at these houses for you like I should. It’s been an amazing run.”

Though El Moussa was clearly surprised by the news, he noted that a new path could bring benefits. “I do wish her the best of luck,” he said of Haack. “Sometimes in life, change can be good for everybody.”

El Moussa took to social media to reflect on the show’s long run as well as starting out in the flipping business over ten years ago.

“I can’t believe this journey started in May 2010 with a home video and a dream of flipping houses on tv,” the Flip or Flop star wrote on Instagram. “It’s crazy to think 12 years later it’s coming to an end. I’ve spent almost a third of my life committed to this show.”

Giving props to his ex, El Moussa expressed his gratitude for Haack’s partnership on the series and wished her well in her upcoming ventures.

“A special thank you to @christinahaack for taking this journey with me,” the HGTV personality posted. “I think we did a pretty good job and I’m excited for what the future holds for both us and wish her nothing but the best!”

HGTV star says he’s ‘not going anywhere’

El Moussa praised those behind the scenes of Flip or Flop as well as the massive fan base that kept the show a hit in the ratings. He included a carousel of photos from the series to remind viewers of the ups and downs during the ten-season journey.

“This week I’ve been reminiscing and looking back through some of the pictures I’ve taken through the years, trying to find the right ones to post… ones that truly represent what a wild ride this has been,” El Moussa wrote. “After an entire decade of filming Flip or Flop, it truly feels like I have a massive family all around the world. All of you inspire me every day to keep pushing and keep going. From the crew working so hard behind the scenes, to our fans watching us every week, the support has been incredible.”
