On Mother’s Day, May 8, Tarek El Moussa shared an Instagram photo of his son Brayden sleeping in a hospital bed. He revealed that the 6-year-old and his ex-wife Christina Haack spent the holiday at the emergency room.
“It’s been an interesting 24 hours,” El Moussa captioned the image. “Last night we were at the CHOC Gala and this morning we were at CHOC hospital waiting for Brayden to get out of surgery.”
El Moussa praised Haack for making “the right call” about Brayden’s healthcare. “He was extremely sick last night so Christina took him to the emergency room,” he wrote. “It turns out it was the right call because he had to have his appendix removed and also we found out he has something rare called Meckel’s diverticulum. Both issues were surgically removed and he’s recovering overnight with his mom.”
He said that the entire family, including his ex-wife, worked through the emotional ordeal together. “Very scary day, but we all banned [sic] together as a family to get through it.”

The timing of Tarek El Moussa praising his ex Christina Haack for how she handled their son’s medical emergency is interesting, considering that Haack’s second ex-husband, Ant Anstead, recently accused her of endangering their 2-year-old son, Hudson Anstead.
On Apr. 28, TMZ reported that the English TV presenter filed for full custody of the toddler. He claimed in court documents that Haack created a dangerous environment for Hudson and put him at medical risk. One example Anstead cited was an instance when his ex returned Hudson to him with a severe sunburn.
The Flip or Flop star filed court documents of her own in response. Haack included a letter with evidence she believes proves that Anstead lied. A judge denied Anstead his emergency order for full custody and set a hearing for June 28, where both he and Haack will have the opportunity to argue whether or not the current custody agreement should change.

Prior to his post about Brayden’s health, Tarek El Moussa stayed quiet about Christina Haack’s legal drama with Ant Anstead.
On the same day that news of the custody battle broke, El Moussa shared a tribute to his new wife, Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young, on Instagram.
“Heather is most [sic] loyal, faithful, and loving woman I could have asked for,” El Moussa captioned a sweet photo of the couple. “I trust her, I believe in her, and she always has my back.” The Flipping 101 star added that he and his two kids with Haack are “so lucky” to have Young.
