Tarek El Moussa’s Instagram Teases Heather Rae Young Flipping Houses With Him, and Some Fans Say No
Tarek El Moussa and Christina Hall are known for their HGTV television hit Flip or Flop — but the show has officially ended. Now, Hall is continuing with Christina on the Coast and a new show, while El Moussa has programming of his own. And a recent Instagram post indicates his wife, Heather Rae Young, might join him in a future show to help flip houses.
Tarek El Moussa’s Instagram post teases the possibility of Heather Rae Young flipping houses
Tarek El Moussa is known for his fantastic ability to flip homes, as seen on Flip or Flop and Flipping 101 With Tarek El Moussa. And Heather Rae Young knows her way around homes, too, as she works for the Oppenheim Group as seen on Netflix’s Selling Sunset. Together, they make an incredible team. And in April 2022, El Moussa teased the possibility of Young helping him with a future flip.
Tarek El Moussa’s Instagram post shows him standing beside Heather Rae Young. “Last night, we had a much-needed date night, and it reminded me how important it is to have a partner who is just as passionate and driven as you are. It also reminded me not to drink more than two margaritas,” El Moussa’s Instagram post reads. “We had an idea … but wanted your opinion. Should Heather and I work on a flip together? If so, what style of house could you imagine us doing together? Can’t wait to hear!”
El Moussa got his start flipping homes with his then-wife Christina Hall. He explained to Realtor.com that he flipped his first home in May 2010 when Hall was five months pregnant. After that success, he and Hall landed their gig with HGTV, and Flip or Flop was born.
Some fans want Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young to keep their relationship out of their work
Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young seem to be madly in love, and they’ve helped each other with projects before. But some fans don’t think El Moussa’s Instagram suggestion is good. Many hope Young stays away from El Moussa’s house-flipping projects, as it could affect their marriage. Additionally, many fans aren’t used to El Moussa and Christina Hall no longer working side by side.
“Nooo,” a fan commented on Instagram. “I don’t think you guys should work on a flip together. You do well keeping it separate. Why mess with the system you have?”
“Ummm nnnnoooo,” another fan wrote. “Look at the track records of couples that work together on TV (you included).”
“No, you both need to keep your own careers separate,” another fan added.
With that said, it looks like Young is all for it. She commented, “Yesssssss,” along with clapping and heart emojis. This could indicate they have something in the works, whether fans like it or not.
Why did ‘Flip or Flop’ end?
If Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young start flipping homes in the future, it might have a Flip or Flop feel. So why did Flip or Flop end?
An insider told People that the show’s set was “too intimate” for exes El Moussa and Hall. They filmed the show together for five years after their split, but they decided to go their separate ways. “Tarek and Christina are generally cordial,” the source noted. “They’re co-parenting and nothing gets in the way of that. The show was just too intimate of a setting at this point and it was time to close that chapter.”
Additionally, it seems there was some tension on set. Both Hall and El Moussa have moved forward with individual projects that have shown great success so far.
