Tati Gabrielle Does Her Own Hair on ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’
You only have to watch a few minutes of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to see that Tati Gabrielle is one talented woman. The 24-year-old actress brings Prudence Blackwood to life with a level of nuance that could easily land her a spin-off show of her own. Gabrielle’s Prudence takes no prisoners. At times her ruthless behavior towards Kiernan Shipka’s character rivals even that of the dark lord, but her fleeting moments of softness make her a truly well-rounded character.
But, Gabrielle’s acting chops aren’t the only talents she lends to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. She also plays the role of hairstylist for herself. Fans fell in love with Prudence’s super short, wavy, platinum blonde hair from the very first episode of part three. Now , on the heels of part four, the style is almost as iconic as Prudence herself. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans have been dying to know how the look is achieved, and now they know that Gabrielle is to thank for it.

Recently, Gabrielle did a takeover for the Sabrina Netflix Instagram page. There, she conducted a Q & A session on Instagram story where she answered questions from loyal Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans. “How do they do that with your hair,” one person inquired, referencing Gabrielle’s short, wavy, locks. In a surprising twist, Gabrielle revealed that, for the most part, she does her hair herself.

“So I actually do my hair myself….umm fun fact. All that I did,” Gabrielle says, gesturing to the front of her hair before continuing. “And then I have a wonderful [hair stylist] who does the back for me because that would be hard ’cause I can’t turn my head around…but yeah, I do it myself,” the Freakish star confessed to fans. As the waves are so intricate and beautifully done it’s truly impressive that Gabrielle is able to achieve the style with very minimal help from a professional.
How makeup and wardrobe help bring Prudence to life
While hair certainly helps bring Gabrille’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina character to life, so do costumes and makeup. In fact, Gabrielle confessed that costumes and makeup play a huge part in helping her get into character. Without those aides, it can be hard for Gabrielle to truly recapture her character’s essence. In fact, Automatic Dialogue Replacement (where actors go into a recording booth to re-record dialogue that was sabotaged while filming) or ADR, for Prudence has been quite challenging.
“It’s to the point where it’s actually quite hard for me to do Prudence when I’m not in the costume and make-up. ADR for Prudence has been the hardest ADR that I’ve ever had to do,” Gabrielle recalled about her Chilling Adventures of Sabrina character in an interview with Collider. The makeup and costume allow Gabrielle to truly get into the body and mind of Prudence.
‘The 100’ star said her character is panther-like in an interview
“It makes me stand in a certain way and move more cat like. That’s what I’ve attributed her spirit animal to be, like a panther. Whenever you put on a fancy dress to go out, it makes you feel like a different person, and that’s what the costuming on this show has done. It brings out something else in me, and that’s where Prudence lives,” Gabrielle shared. It’s fascinating how makeup and clothing can so greatly influence Gabrielle. We can’t wait to see what she has for us next, acting and hair-wise.
