‘Cheaper by the Dozen’: Who Did Taylor Lautner Play in the Disney Sequel?
Some know him as Shark Boy, others know him as the werewolf Jacob. Prior to his role in Twilight, Taylor Launter had a very different role in a Disney feature film. That’s the sequel to Cheaper by the Dozen, starring cast members like Hilary Duff and Steve Martin.
Here’s what we know about this actor’s role in the movie.
Taylor Lautner is known for his role in the ‘Twilight’ movies
He played a high school heartthrob in Valentine’s Day and a werewolf heartthrob in The Twilight Saga. Prior to his teenage years, this actor appeared in several family-oriented films, including one by the Walt Disney Company.
In 2005, Launter acted in the sequel to Cheaper By the Dozen, a movie about a large family with a passion for competition. His character, Eliot Murtaugh, appeared as the love interest to one of the main characters.
Taylor Lautner also acted in ‘Cheaper By the Dozen 2’
Long before his appearance in Twilight, this young actor was a member of the Murtaugh clan, the wealthy family vacationing across the lake from Tom Baker and his family in the comedy film, Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
As one of the younger children in the family, Launter’s character, Eliot, was a star athlete, a musician in the school’s orchestra, and an honors student. Eliot Murtaugh also won the heart of young Sarah Baker, a character portrayed by Alyson Stoner.
This proves to be a pretty difficult first step for both fathers, who decided to crash the movie theater date. Despite a few hiccups in their relationship, Eliot and Sarah had a summer filled with fun.
“He fall in love with Sarah Baker in the movie,” Lautner said of his character during an interview at the premiere for Cheaper by the Dozen 2. “I have to go through Steve Martin to get to Sarak Baker because he gives me that ‘talk’ and he tries to find a flaw in me and he doesn’t.”
This character was not in the first Cheaper By the Dozen movie. However, Lautner did act in another movie with his famously spiked hair — the action film, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D.
‘Cheaper by the Dozen 2’ is now available for streaming on Disney+
As a film produced under the Disney umbrella, Cheaper by the Dozen 2 joined the company’s streaming platform during February 2021, along with original movies and Marvel television shows like WandaVision.
The original Cheaper by the Dozen, which introduced fans to the Baker family is also available for streaming on Disney+. This movie also featured characters like Sarah and Tom Baker, as they tackled a new house in a new town and all of the challenges that come with it.
