On Nov. 14, Taylor Swift revealed that she collaborated with her close friend Blake Lively to make a music video for the song “I Bet You Think About Me (featuring Chris Stapleton).” The song was released on Swift’s new re-recorded album Red (Taylor’s Version), which dropped on Nov. 12. As a “From the Vault” song, “I Bet You Think About Me” previously did not make the final tracklist of Swift’s 2012 album Red.
Blake Lively directed and co-wrote Taylor Swift’s upcoming music video
Swift’s new album Red (Taylor’s Version) features multiple “From the Vault” tracks. On Nov. 13, Swift performed one of the “From the Vault” songs, “All Too Well (10 minute version),” on Saturday Night Live. Lively attended the SNL performance to support Swift.
On Nov. 14, Swift announced that she recently collaborated with Lively on a music video for “I Bet You Think About Me.”
“SURPRISE! NEW MUSIC VIDEO TOMORROW at 10am ET I finally got to work with the brilliant, brave, & wickedly funny @blakelively on her directorial debut. Join us as we raise a toast, and a little hell,” Swift tweeted.
In the tweet, Swift also shared a trailer for the music video. The trailer shows a hand grabbing a white wedding cake to reveal the cake’s red interior. The “I Bet You Think About Me” music video trailer also reveals that Swift and Lively wrote the story for the music video together while Lively directed the music video.
Taylor Swift and Blake Lively are friends
Before collaborating together on the “I Bet You Think About Me” music video, Swift and Lively were known for being close friends. Swift is also friends with Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds, and the three celebrities frequently support each other’s projects.
On her 2017 album Reputation, Swift used a voice memo of Lively and Reynold’s daughter James to open the song “Gorgeous.” Swift went on to name the song “betty” on her 2020 album folklore after the couple’s daughter Betty, and the song mentions characters named after Lively and Reynold’s daughters, Inez and James.
When folklore won Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards, Swift thanked Lively and Reynolds for their friendship.
“I want to thank James, Inez, and Betty and their parents who are the second and third people that I play every new song that I write,” Swift said in her acceptance speech.
When does the ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video premiere?

In the TikTok, Swift wears a head hat and the screen reads: “Who should direct the ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video?” The camera then cuts to multiple clips of Lively on the set of the music video.
The music video for “I Bet You Think About Me” will premiere on YouTube at 10 a.m. EST on Nov. 15.
