Travis Kelce is getting serious about taking big leaps into Hollywood. The NFL tight end has reportedly been taking acting classes and rubbing shoulders with A-list stars. He recently appeared in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie and reportedly hopes to keep making his way into the acting scene while still playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Adam Sandler fans looking forward to seeing more of Kelce’s acting chops can also rejoice. According to The U.S. Sun, Kelce will appear in Happy Gilmore 2, which Netflix will release in 2025. Kelce begins filming in early October 2024. As for Taylor Swift, she was also allegedly asked if she wanted to star in the film. A source said she “started laughing” at the prospect, though she remains “really excited” for Kelce’s film debut.
So, will Swift accept the offer given to her to star alongside her boyfriend? “It sounded like a joke at the start, so when she got offered the cameo, she didn’t think it was serious at first,” the insider said. “She still has to answer, but it would be a funny experience, even if the scene lasts 30 seconds or something shorter than that.”
Swift seems to care about Kelce’s acting career more than her own. “Taylor knows his acting career is important for him and something he wants to grow into,” the source continued.
Travis Kelce ‘couldn’t believe’ that he was given the opportunity to work with Adam Sandler
Travis Kelce has reportedly been putting in the work to make the switch from the NFL to Hollywood when he’s ready. While he’s been doing his best to talk to the right people in the industry, a source told The U.S. Sun that he “couldn’t believe” he now has the opportunity to work with his idol, Adam Sandler.
“They have been talking for some time now, and they met in person a couple of weeks ago for dinner to talk about the movie,” the insider said in August 2024. “Travis couldn’t believe it; it’s like a dream come true for him as Adam Sandler is one of his idols, a heavyweight on the movie business, and he loves his movies. [S]o, it’s a perfect opportunity for him to work with one of his favorite directors.”
The insider added that Kelce is taking the role “very seriously” and “wants to do great.”
“They have been talking with Sandler almost every week about it since the end of June approximately,” the source continued. “They get along super well, they are both very simple guys, easygoing and chill, and they like to laugh a lot, so they are a perfect match.”

Travis Kelce hopes to make a name for himself as a serious actor. Unfortunately, Hollywood elites might not accept him just yet. A source told The U.S. Sun that Kelce has yet to remove his “training wheels” regarding acting. And he still has a lot of work to do in establishing himself apart from Taylor Swift.
“For all the hype around his potential Hollywood career, he still hasn’t taken off the training wheels,” the insider claimed. “Even though he’s trying to establish his show business brand apart from Taylor, can he really do any of this without her there every step of the way?”
The source noted that Kelce “doesn’t fit in” with the acting world yet — and his hunger to assimilate isn’t helping.
