Pop star Taylor Swift is one of the most famous women in the world. And with all the buzz about Super Bowl LIX and its teams, stars, and coaches, there is someone else getting plenty of attention: Swift, who happens to be the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

Of course, Swift will be in a cozy suite cheering on her man for the second year in a row; this time, he’s eyeing a three-peat championship. But BFF Blake Lively might be missing from the mix, as the two women are reportedly having some speed bumps in their longtime friendship.

Taylor Swift might not invite Blake Lively to the Super Bowl

Swift and Lively’s friendship dates back years. The two were first spotted hanging out in 2015, and they have been undeniably close ever since. Swift is even a godparent to Lively’s daughters with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and Lively and Swift live only blocks apart from each other in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood. Still, despite a decade of memories, things reportedly went south when Justin Baldoni’s legal team revealed text messages from Lively that referenced Game of Thrones. Lively claimed she was Khaleesi, and Reynolds and Swift were her “dragons.” The idea behind the message was that Swift and Reynolds would help Lively take Baldoni down.

However, TMZ reveals that sources say Swift did not like being referenced in that way, nor did she like that the messages were brought up in a lawsuit. It has reportedly resulted in tension between Lively and Swift because, while Swift might support Lively, she does not want anything to do with the case. As a result, Swift supposedly did not ask Lively to be a part of her Super Bowl Suite this year.

Of course, rumors are rumors, and nothing will be confirmed until Swift’s Super Bowl suite is inevitably aired on TV multiple times throughout the game. Still, sources claim that Swift did not invite Lively this year as a means of cooling off their friendship amid Lively’s legal situation. Sources say Swift is not happy with Lively, but that Lively doesn’t think her relationship with Swift is strained.

Swift has always kept her personal life pretty private, so nobody knows what is truly going on. Lively might not be in the suite for a completely different reason; maybe she had a scheduling conflict or is intentionally choosing to lay low. Still, Lively and Swift have had a rock-solid friendship for years, so hopefully they will be able to figure this one out.
