Taylor Swift Won’t Let Justin Baldoni Lawsuit ‘Destroy’ Blake Lively Friendship Despite Needing ‘Space,’ Sources Say
Taylor Swift has officially become involved in the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni It Ends With Us lawsuits. Lively started the legal battle by suing Baldoni for sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy, and lost wages. Baldoni’s countersuit alleges that Lively and Reynolds’ actions resulted in defamation and extortion. As for Swift, she allegedly doesn’t want the lawsuits to “destroy” her friendship with Lively, but she may need “space.”
Taylor Swift allegedly wants to continue her friendship with Blake Lively despite feeling ‘hurt’
Blake Lively’s texts involved Taylor Swift in her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. Swift and Baldoni only met once, but Lively texted Baldoni about the “dragons” she has on her side. It’s believed that Swift acts as one of her “dragons,” as does Ryan Reynolds.
“I happen to have a few dragons,” Lively texted Baldoni, according to People. “For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. [Smiley-face emoji] you will too, I can promise you.”
Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively states, “[He] was not just dealing with Lively. He was also facing Lively’s ‘dragons,’ two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world, who were not afraid to make things very difficult for him.”
Lively was noticeably absent from Super Bowl LIX, which she was expected to attend with Swift. An insider told Page Six that Swift “wants nothing to do with” the lawsuits. “She has always been a loyal friend to Blake and doesn’t appreciate being thrown into this at all,” they continued.
The insider added that Swift “needs space” from Lively. “Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn,” they claimed.
That said, another source told In Touch Weekly that Swift doesn’t want to let the legal drama interfere with her longstanding friendship with Lively.
“Taylor is close with Blake, and her family and is even godmother to Blake’s kids,” the second source explained. “Justin’s lawsuit may be a nightmare, but they would never let something like this destroy them.”
Justin Baldoni’s lawyer says he might depose Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift isn’t a major player in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s lawsuits. However, Baldoni’s lawyer says he still might depose Swift if she can provide useful evidence.
“I don’t know that we’re going to depose Taylor Swift or not,” Bryan Freedman said on TMZ’s Two Angry Men podcast. “I think that that’s gonna be probably a game-time decision. … Anyone that reasonably has information that can provide evidence in this case is going to be deposed. I mean, for sure.”
Freedman didn’t elaborate on Swift’s possible involvement. However, the show posited that Lively and Ryan Reynolds will do everything in their power to keep Swift out of it.
“My assumption is that they’re probably going to take some legal actions that are beyond the bounds of decency, and we’ll see if they can try to avoid a deposition,” Freedman continued.

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have a friendship dating back to 2015. An insider told DailyMail.com that Swift is “confused” by Justin Baldoni’s claims, as he said Swift made him feel as if he “needed to comply with Blake’s direction for the script” of It Ends With Us.
“Taylor is proud of the film because her music was featured in it, which gave her a sense of involvement, though she wasn’t fully aware of the extent of the project’s developments,” the insider explained. “She is confused by the claims in the suit, as her connection to Blake is purely a friendship, with no interest in influencing or controlling Blake’s projects.”
The source added that Swift “was simply being polite” when she met Baldoni. “She was polite to him as she is to everyone she meets.”
