Taylor Swift Critics Praise Her for Derailing Scooter Braun From Running for Office; ‘Thanks, Taylor!’
We may be deep in the midst of a global pandemic, but Scooter Braun and Taylor Swift are still finding time to keep their feud alive. Ever since Braun bought the famous songwriter’s former label, Big Machine Records, and thus acquired the masters to her first six albums, the pair have been trading jabs publicly. Swift maintains that Braun has consistently bullied her in the past. Meanwhile, Braun states that Swift has refused to talk to him and resolve their issues.
Of course, Swift now has plans to re-record her first six albums. But, that hasn’t stopped her from taking jabs at Braun and vice versa. In a recent interview with GQ UK, Braun spoke out about how the feud had affected his life and goals. Though he didn’t cite Swift by name, he used very specific language, which he’s previously used to address Swift directly, so it’s quite clear whom he is referring to.
Scooter Braun wanted to run for office prior to feuding with Taylor Swift
Braun revealed that he previously considered running for public office. However, he was hesitant about how it could potentially affect his young kids. “Public office is something I’ve thought about in the past. The reason I have shied away from it is because I have young children and I have to be careful,” the manager claimed. Braun then launched into his feud with Swift and how being attacked publicly changed his willingness to run.
Braun reflects on his feud with Swift
“Recently I was attacked very publicly by someone I don’t know, someone who refused to have a conversation with me, and I wish that person nothing but the best and hope that one day a dialogue is had, because I think it all could have been avoided with proper dialogue, but what it did teach me was that if my children were teenagers, if they were a little bit older, this could have been very hard for them,” Braun stated, referencing Swift.
Critics of ‘The Man’ singer praise her
Upon hearing this announcement via Braun, many Swift fans, and even critics, began thanking her. As Braun is largely unqualified to run for office, they felt that she may have prevented a political nightmare. “Alright, this changed my feelings about this entire feud. Taylor Swift performed a public service,” one person wrote on Oh No They Didn’t. “I’ll have to send Taylor a thank you card,” another person chimed in.
“Gotta send Taylor an edible arrangement or something,” another person stated after hearing Braun’s announcement. “Never thought I would be so grateful for Taylor Swift. Truly, a first for everything,” another Swift critic declared. “Well then consider me, for this tiny blip in time, a Taylor Swift stan,” yet another person added.
High net worth does not qualify someone to run for office
Other people were simply outdone by Braun believing he was qualified to run. “Enough with these undeserving, no credential having, clout chasing, ignorant a*s nobodies who think having money is some sort of qualification to run for office. If Taylor fuc*in Swift can prevent even one of the bozos from clogging up an already dismal political landscape, I’ll god*amn take it,” one passionate person wrote. Clearly, many people are not fans of Braun even considering running for office. So, perhaps one good thing did come from this never-ending feud.
