Taylor Swift Is ‘Trying to Be There’ for Travis Kelce After His ‘Difficult’ Super Bowl Loss, Insider Says
Taylor Swift is there for Travis Kelce after the Kansas City Chiefs lost Super Bowl LIX. An insider says the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” singer, 35, is doing what she can to be supportive as Kelce, 35, grapples with the “difficult” loss.
Taylor is ‘supporting’ Travis in the wake of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss
Swift is sticking by Kelce as he deals with the “difficult” Super Loss on Feb. 9, 2025, when the Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. “Taylor is supporting Travis during this difficult time and it’s just trying to be there for him as much as possible,” a source told Us Weekly. “The game obviously did not go as planned.”
The Kansas City Chiefs, who were attempting their third consecutive Super Bowl win aka a “three-peat,” lost 40-22 to the Eagles in New Orleans, La., at Caesars Superdome.
Despite cheering Kelce and KC on all season—Swift attended almost every home game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., during the 2024-25 season—she “tries to stay in her lane when it comes to the sport and just be as supportive as possible.” (Kelce does the same with Swift’s music, btw.)
The source didn’t divulge specifics on how Swift is being supportive. She could be his literal shoulder to cry on. Maybe singing “So High School,” a track from “The Tortured Poets Department,” thought to be about the NFL star, on repeat. Or perhaps whipping up as many homemade Pop-Tarts as he wants. (They’re one of his favorite dishes the pop star makes.)
Whatever Swift’s doing, she’s been so supportive of Kelce in the past that he’s said it’s allowed him to “focus” on football.

Kelce reflected on losing the Super Bowl during the Feb. 12 episode of “New Heights,” the podcast he records with his brother, Jason Kelce, a retired center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I’m kicking myself for some of the tiny, tiny decisions I made on the field,” he said. “I wasn’t the best leader that I could be in motivating my guys and keeping my guys calm, cool, and collected.”
Kelce continued, saying he felt responsible as a long-time player. “I put a lot of that on myself as the guy that’s been in the building for 12 years and seen a lot of football and actually seen a situation just like this in the Super Bowl,” he explained. “It’s a tough pill to swallow. It’s a hard reality, man.”
“I’m sorry for how it ended,” Kelce added. “I have a beautiful life, man. I have loved ones, I have the most amazing family in the world that supports me in everything that I do and they were all there cheering me on and hoping for the best on Sunday, man.”
Kelce previously told journalists in the Chiefs’ locker room after the game that “You don’t lose like that without everything going bad,” noting the team hadn’t “played that bad all year,” (via Today.)
Kelce and Swift’s Super Bowl weekend had highs and lows
There was a lot more to Kelce and Swift’s Super Bowl weekend than the Chiefs losing to the Eagles. The weekend included both highs and lows. Highs included the “Fortnight” singer’s dinner with Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, and the Haim sisters on the eve of the big game, as well as her and Kelce’s game day outfits. Swift wore rhinestone shorts and a white blazer/tank combo presumably to coordinate with the Chiefs’ white jerseys.
Meanwhile, Kelce arrived in a rust-colored ’70s-inspired suit, complete with an embellished shirt, which he accessorized with loafers, gold chains, and glasses. Another high? Despite losing the tight end still broke a record for most catches in a Super Bowl, which Jason reminded him of during their podcast.
Lows included Swift getting booed when she appeared on the jumbotron—the moment went viral, as did the Grammy winner’s reaction: major side-eye—and Kelce looking visibly crushed by the loss when security escorted him to his pricey suite to see friends, family, and Swift after the game ended.
